Dan, found the carb manual. It looks like the two main body cover plate gaskets and the air horn to throttle body gasket must be a matched set. If the main body gaskets are cork it will lift the Air horn up and suck air. There is not a shim in the kit. The 885FFG section only is 28 pages I can...
Look in the 1965 manuals for some gasser info. The early manuals aren't online that i've seen. To be a "real" M381 it would need a cut down M34 bed. What did you do for lights and safety chain when towing?
Check with Chuck W on the G503 M274 message board. He has a mule registration number database and can probably tell you which is correct. If I remember right, that is very close to the end of production of A5's.
Prep it outdoors then beg/borrow/rent a space indoors to spray. All it takes is a heavy dew overnight and your paint job will have water spots which will not come out. My M1028A3 came out perfect, that is untill the next morning.:roll:
