Your best bet is to go with a 24v to 12v inverter hooked to both batteries. You can hook up to just one battery and get 12 volts but it is bad for the batteries and not recommended.
Have you downloaded all the TMs? There are three or four different sets covering your truck, including operation, maintenance, and parts.
I believe the diagrams are in the -24 or -34 set but I can't say for sure. There is also a trouble shooting section.

I did that as the first part of my latest test and it stayed cool.
The first day I had heat issues was 35° out and running down the highway.
I am hoping for the best. Tomorrow will include new coolant and another good test run.
I just want to add that since the original issue and it fixing itself I have not had any other air delivery issues. I have also not fixed, rebuilt, or replaced any part of the air compressor system.
I know this does not help anybody with similiar issues but it is what it is.

On mine I use the red glad hands and turn on the shut off valve by the hand. Are yours not getting pressure there?
Follow the piping back under the truck and you may have another shut off valve.
I generally use the front drivers side glad hand and it works well.
