Engine oil analysis will tell you as well due to the increased bearing metal content in the oil. That SHOULD tell you long before you have noise.
Not to imply that there was not such an option, but over on tank-net.org they have some specific rules that are interesting and seem to work well.

I can bring a 5500 KW gen set if need be too. It's been barely run, so if we run it during the event, I'll probably have to change the oil in it sometime through the weekend.
I think I'd have chocked the stuffing out of the one trailer, and flipped the other trailer up on it OR something to get it home. Easier to flip it back out.
Oh, one problem. Does anyone have a spare windshield wiper arm brass nut? I managed to drop one of the ones I had and it bounced off the fender into the grass and naturally cannot find it. :roll:
So I bought a pair of the Korean made windshields at the GaMVPA rally from Kevin Emdee/Star Electric Ordnance. I installed one the other day at the event and got the other installed today. I tweaked the first one to get it done right and once adjusted, they seal MUCH better than the standard US...
Look at the silicone radiator hoses and spring T-Clamps. They work VERY well, are VERY stable and slide on and off far easier than the plain rubber/cord re-enforced hoses. They're not cheap but they are worth the expense for our trucks.
Hey Clinto, I have access to an M818. It's mostly road ready, if you can assist me in going over the truck and finding any other problems, you can use it for picking up your dodgy front steering deuce. We can tow it on the 5th wheel like Kenny did his other Deuce.
Are you sure you need to isolate that 12 volt ground?
Ground is ground. 12, 24, 48, 480, it does not matter. The potential difference is between the power unit's voltage difference and the ground. If the unit was not working, it could have been that it wasn't correctly grounded to the truck...
