If you want a bobbed deuce, boyce is way high on everything you mentioned. I'd go with Hundy for a bobber. 100Dollarman - Military Surplus Home! You also realize none of these (including CUCV's) have A/C?
I added a turbo to mine and upgraded the exhaust; no real noticable difference in power; just a heck of alot louder with that screaming whistle.
That mess has bounced around southern CA for several years. Don't know if anyone has actually driven it though. If you really look it has 10 bolts under it.
Normally I'm not a fan of Harbor Freight or Northern Tools but buying the bigger tools like a 3/4 inch socket set for example is the way to go. They are cheap enough that if you break one you just get another. If you bought name brand it would get super expensive really fast. I agree with Gimp...
Regardless, a M105 is not meant to be towed behind a 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck (just specifying this for those who don't know). It will not lower onto the hitch even if it has the newer landing leg. Also, alot of people won't be able to lift these tongues.
I'd make sure it has minimal rust, pass on the extra axle. I'd get it and look for a set of axles from an older GM. Like a 70's 1/2 ton with a 12 bolt in the rear and dana 44 in front with 3.73's. They will bolt in and be cheap and use the same rims.
That's what I was saying, in AL or GA you just register them; then when you move or sell it, other states title them off their registration. (ask me how I know this).
