    Make sure you get the title and not the SF-97. He is the only one who can use that without alot of hassles. Ensure it has a clear TX title in His name.

    Every vehicle has it's limitations. M1009's are good rigs as long as you aren't pulling really heavy loads and putting huge tires on the 10 bolt axles. Electrically, I think they get a bad rap because so many people don't understand the system. You are getting the "I wouldn't do this" replies...

    Also, the early headlight buckets were able to be reversed (hi/lo). Some of the later ones didn't have this ability and were high position only.

    Early trucks had low lights on non winch trucks with high lights for w/w trucks. Later all were mounted high.

    Why do you want to convert to 12V? Or do you mean just add a 12V alternator and have a separate circuit to power 12V items?
