    My truck got NOS!!!

NOx is a term that describes oxides of nitrogen (NO and NO2) which are a component of vehicle exhaust and contribute to photochemical smog. NOy describes NO3 and so on. N2O is nitrous oxide.

    Building full hydro steering

The drag link is basically a G21 valve one one end with the other end custom built. The trouble is, it is a $1200 drag link. Hard to justify if the HF54 can be done for significantly less. I have been hoping to fine a G21 in a salvage yard and get just the balance of parts from Garrison.

5 ton mf power steering pump on m35a2

Anyone know the torque for the nut that holds the gear onto the pump?

    Converting air to hydro

Take a look at Garrison's G21 control valve:

What don't you like about the Boyce kit? I'd be interested in which drag link valve you are referring to. Garrison Mfg makes a new drag link valve with correct ball studs but they are spendy. They will also make standard drag links for those who want to do alternative steering boxes but don't...

I am contemplating a ram assist. Any reason why the Boyce ram/bracket wouldn't be suitable for street use?

1955 Reo Deuce Gasser Carb Conversion

I have found that the GMC and REO carbs have slightly different jets. Forget about the 885FFG and get a modern Holley 2300 series 2bb. The economaster is the best and has excellent driveability. Use a large holley to rochester adapter available at any speed shop.

I Start Changing Out Head Gaskets Today

The gasket that M35-tom sells is made by victor. According to VR literature, this part number was released in 2005. I suspect that this is the newest design available.

    Connecting Rods

Dave, I mispoke on the reference. It was actually Design and Applications in Diesel Engineering, edited by Sam Haddad and Neil Watson. "The bearing cap joint should preferably be at 90 degrees to the rod axis as this offers more rigidity, better bearing support, lower cost and easeir...

    Connecting Rods

Well, I can't personally argue either way; only relay what I have read. Taylor's book was clear in that the ONLY reason to cant the rod cap is to facilitate rod removal through the bore for a relatively large bearing diameter. That other engine mfg use a canted rod doesn't mean that it wasn't...

    Connecting Rods

This comes from Taylor's bible on ICE design.

The canted rod is also weaker.

    2" removable receivers

    Why? It's a great concept!

    2" removable receivers

Like TM said, anything that can happen will; it's just a matter of time and chance. Can you get a P.E. to sign off/ certify? At least then, if something does happen, you can show that you did your due diligence to create a safe design.

    24 Volt Gauges

I think that this depends on the particular pyrometer. The autometer pyrometers have a separate, switched 12V requirement.

Non split rims for a Deuce?

There are also 22.5" truck rims used on medium duty ford trucks but the single hand hole looks a bit funny.

Full hydro help needed...smart math people!

You are completely missing the point. These are not even valid comparisons. If, because of an unsafe design, a GM vehicle kills someone, yes GM is liable. Think of the Pinto or recent sticking gas pedals. If YOU as the owner make an unsafe modification, you may not be covered by your vehicle...

Full hydro help needed...smart math people!

You can buy this type of setup off the shelf from Garrison but it is $$$$. Sure, but someone else designed the brakes making it their flaw/liability. If I design a component that fails because it was faulty design/worksmanship (not suggesting that anybody would), seems like the liability...
