Before I got the goat I had an UNIMOG S404 and compared to that vehicle goat breakes are easy to check and to repair! You can take off the hole brackets with all the parts on it as one piece and put it on your workbench... All the parts should be dry, if not check the wheel cylinders...
Hi Chris,
don´t steer the goat while standing, it´s not good for the steering box, because it needs lots of power to steer both axles! Lift the front and carrier axle and try again. A gritty feeling should not be ok... Change the oil. The steering box can be adjusted a little bit, loosen the...

Yes... you have to keep the Mog!
The snorkel is the original one and very rare in Germnay, there haven´t been longer ones at the 404.
The Unimogs from the Swiss Army are normally in very good conditions and when you have fixed the clutch and you don´t find any other big damage you will have a...
Info...
The clutch of the S404 doesn´t look like most of the others, it´s not a full disk, there are only 4 small linings for power transmission and they are made of sinter metal!
Keep it!
I would say... keep the Mog!
To repair the clutch you have to move the cab, but that´s no big thing!
After the cap is gone it is easy to work on the Mog.
Don´t try to loosen the clutch by driving to a tree or what else. Even if the clutch will be loose after that you have to change to...
