whatever the center is made from sure doesn't like being welded, i plated mine till i had time to replace and got very little penetration as i was able to knock the plates off easily when changing bushings

What did you do to your deuce this week?

drove it to work today, fed it 5 gallons of new waste oil from under the dispenser taps at the dealer (spillage), a mix of 5/30 and 0/20 that i ran though a highly complex filtration rig after i fished the rubber gloves and pig mats out of it, topped that off with 25-30 gallons of diesel on the...

395s MRAP wheels Stock spare location

ive got mine sucked up in the pocket with no trimming but haven't built the offset hanger yet, currently secured with chain so its not stressing the cables, by not forcing it to align with the stock mount i don't have any critical clearance issues, but i do want to build a offset hanger for...

tossing around a different idea for 12 volts, this been tried before?

considering a deep cycle maybe a agm or gel battery and to charge it a simple one wire alternator running off a pinion flange or the jackshaft between the t-case and tranny, that would allow stationary charging if required, this obviously is not perfect but could be amusing and if running off...

    Spare tire?

with 395s on mraps you can just get it into the hole, i haven't had the chance to build a proper adapter to lock it into the mount so until then i'm using a chain to take the weight off the cables, new xzl with adapter, beadlock and steel rim 430#, add about another 60# for runflat beadlock, my...

    electric winch on deuce

you can control the heat with snatch blocks by reducing the load and draw off the batteries, if the 18k warn works on a mrap it'll work on my much lighter deuce, only drawback i could find when winch swapping was it "only" has 75' of cable that could reduce the amount of real estate for snatch...

i notice my diffs sing above 50 drive and coast with the 80/90 tractor supply lube i installed at service time, i did 395s and reman airshift t-case at same time but have heard the same singing in videos posted here so think im gonna consider that as a flush and step up to 85/140

    I overshot neutral into Reverse

it likely just self clearanced the offending noise making metal being driven, thats why it stopped making noise and its now being run though the bearings seals and pistons, id suggest stopping trying to walk it off and begin the removal/repair process

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

when someone was stealing the gas out of my daily driver 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban i tried to run a electric fence charger to it, had grounding issues with the hot line running to it and gave up too easy before i solved them, my other idea involved my tater cannon, a rag/double hand full of dry beans...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

have been readying it for the trip to the rally at camp shelby next weekend and my alternator took a dump, verified voltage at the exciter wire so it's boned, unless i can pull a 21si 24v delco outta my asscrack this week in time to build the bracket needed to mount it in the stockers hole guess...
