Check your connections behind the gauge. One is ground, one is resistance from the fuel tank sending unit, one is 12v.
Many people have issues with the resistance signal not making it to the gauge.
For me, I lost the 12v powering the gauge.
I just replaced mine and they all had "10.5v" stamped on them.
But I haven't had to mess with the glow plug system yet so I am no expert.
I can add that with rebuilt starter, new batteries and warm outside the fastest its ever started was after 2 cha-cha's

Wife is gonna drive it round the lot every so often. I'm about to leave for army stuff.
I've put a little less than 10k miles on it since getting it 5 years ago. What is a regular basis for glow plugs?
Going to seafoam in the fuel tank and call it good for now.

Swollen and broken glow plug. Oh man. Its the a.c. delco 60g that everyone here seems to like. All the others came out fine. Had 3 different brands in there.
Trying the trick to pull out the end through the injector hole but ran out of daylight.

Can you show pics when you're done?
Previous owner for mine was a police department, they put a hitch on there which I haven't used at all and your idea sounds amazingly simple. :jumpin:
My rear diff did that for a bit after I put a new Detroit locker in there. Then one day there was a big big clunk and its worked normally ever since.
I atributted it to getting stuck on burrs left from manufacturing, until they wore/broke off.

Washers from the wipers completed:
You do have to drill 1 hole next to the passenger wiper to feed the hose through. Make sure you get all the burrs off. Also male sure you get official vatozone washer tube not random from the house tube so that it doesnt leak all over...
Going to require fiddling. The connector to the pump is different. I got the whole assembly from a junk yard was able to get the new connector to the pump just strip the wires.
The washer tank is different too.
Also have the wipers from an 88 model where the fluid shoots out from each wiper...
my fuel filter with water separator was spitting rust colored goo after 2 years... i can only imagine what the fuel tank looks like.
as soon as im living in a place thats my own I will take your advice ;P
