Don't remove them!! They provide much needed can re-enforcement and if you remove them the cab will flex to the point that the doors will not open and close.
I used a tekonsha P3 inertia brake controller. Tapped in a single battery for power and the used one of the extra pins on the truck's plug. I used an old plug from a m105 and wired it into the trailer. I tapped into the "signal" for the truck's brake lights to power the trailers brake lights...
I'm not trying to "torpedo" anyone on here, just simply trying to prevent any SS members from having to go through the same ordeal I am. The long and short of it is, I'm still waiting on the City of West Palm Beach to reimburse me the thousands of dollars in damages caused to my M932 when I let...
I'm going to guess that if anyone has ever done it they regretted it, unless they modified the engine for more hp. HMMWV's are performance "dogs" by design and adding bigger and heavier tires only makes that worse. If I were to go to bigger tires I would look at lighter tires like Toyo's...
I'm helping in a charity event that day so I'm out. Tomorrow there is a car show at the acreage music jam at Community Park on 140th. I've been to a couple of these and they were good family events but I've never put my truck in the show. If I get back in time tomorrow I might head over there...
10-15 pounds. Once the bolts are removed it'll usually stick on there, because of the gasket. Once you break it loose it won't come crashing down like a ton of bricks but does requires at least a firm grip, with at least one hand, to prevent it from smacking you in the noggin.
Or end up like last year's Haspin when someone tried to unload an ATV out of the back of an M813 on a hill WITHOUT ramps. From our viewpoint said person rolling down the hill (without ATV) was priceless. (No one hurt.)
I believe that's called the "Dukes of Hazard" unloading method...
I just saw your photos, on the 5 ton thread, about this. I'm tied up till the second week of November but after that I'm in. PM me next time you head out for a ride or there is a mudfest event. Need to test out my latest build...
Ummm, wow, that's a little over the top. Could simply be an over zealous code enforcement officer but I don't think wishing harm on his or anyone else's family, that is completely innocent as to the situation at hand, is the solution.
Correct. This is not a law enforcement matter, it is a zoning matter. Which is far worse because the zoning personnel have far less oversight, than law enforcement, and as such are poorly regulated, trained or informed.
Sunroofs are like vacuum cleaners, when cars begin to roll. I don't know why but I've seen more people "exit the vehicle" via them then any other window. He's extremely lucky you were there to apply pressure and control his movements. Too often individuals, in shock, wander off and get struck...
Behr also works well on the soft tops. They're surprisingly porous and absorb the paint well, hence the multiple coats of rattle can that are required.
