Firefighting upgrades for FMTV trucks. Look under the projects tab and there's a bunch of info on adding tanks and pumps as well as safety issues and concerns.
Yes, to troop seats plus it is a true drop side bed, unlike the standard M939 drop side bed where only a portion of the bed sides drop. Also the spare is mounted in the bed and there are points for securing ISOs in the floor of the ISO beds.
What model 5 ton M809, M939 ect.. There's nothing overly complex, as far as battery cables are concerned, on any of the 5 tons. If every single battery cable was missing, including ground and power to starter (it's unlikely that they've all been pilfered), it'd take 1-3 hours to replace...
Thanks. Yea I was looking at the data sheet it gives me just enough info to get myself in trouble. I was looking at Recvry4x4's inch yesterday and I noticed our thermal overloads are completely different. His has the in-line donut and mine is a stand alone box that you can see on the right...
So I'm working out the logistics for my rear winch, on my M813 bobber. I'm planning on simply mounting it on a plate that will be bolted to the top of the frame, at the rear of the truck. My issue is that it appears as though this winch was previously mounted between frame rails so the winch...
Holy crap, you parted with cash. I fully expected you to have traded some old deuce, 5 ton or CUCV parts you forgot you even had for it. At least tell me you beat them up on the price or else I'll definitely know you're getting lax....
Uncle Sam's elves were nice enough to paint over almost every label on my winch so I'll have to double check it using pictures on here.
So you finally broke down and bought one or did you work out a horse trade, like usual....
Santa (my wife) was nice enough to stuff one of the 18k warn winches into my Christmas stocking. My question is this, these appear to use M12 bolts, for mounting. Did you guys use 8.8, 10.9 or 12.9 bolts for mounting your winches? Silly me, I don't deal with high strength metric bolts on my...
Baby powder on the belts also help quite them down. Mine started squealing at idle, a little baby powder and the squeal was gone. Don't try putting it on while the fans activated though....
To answer the original question..... I had dual 9.00X20 on the back on a bobbed deuce. It had a M105 bed on it, with no modifications to the bed, and there were no issues. I also had 14.00's on this truck but I really liked the way it looked with dual 9.00's
Found some old M939 basic PMCS videos I thought I'd share.
