They're open differentials so that's normal. I'm gonna guess she smacked the axle solidly and it was hard to see because she made contact with the tire. I'll reach out to troll1216 and have him contact you. He dealt with this same thing last year.
It takes a lot more than a dodge truck hitting the front of your truck to effect your rear suspension. Last time I saw the rears sustain damage was when a F150 rear ended the rear axle at 60+ mph. Totaled the F150, broke a couple dog bones and the inter drive shaft ruptured the rear axle. It...
I wish those soldiers all the best. I hope all the guys on here picking up those surplus HMMWVs pay close attention to this and not underestimated how inherently dangerous driving a HMMWV can be, especially at highway speeds. Godspeed to these soldiers and their recovery...
Most guys put a 12ft deuce bed, on the M931/M932, or in my case just cut down a full size bed. Extending the frame wont be necessary, unless you are carrying ridiculous weight which a bobbed truck won't do.
As far as the location of the rear axle, it's completely up to you. I've seen bobbed...
I've painted 4-5 trucks with Behr and swear by it. It's super easy to use, easily available, and relatively inexpensive. I've got 2 years of the South Florida sun and rain beating down on one of my trucks and it still looks great. I've always found it easier to base coat and add the brown and...
The M934 is a beast. Is it an A1 or A2? Look at the member's map on here. There's a couple members in the central Florida area and I'm sure if you ask nicely one might let you drive one of their M939 trucks. Good luck!!
March 11th was the last day of the 2016 Florida State Legislative session and it won't fire back up till August, with session starting January 2017, so it'll be a little while before any legislation is proposed. I hadn't heard anything about any new legislation effecting FMTV but with so many...
My guess is there are no working units for sale to the general public just yet. I'm sure the initial price will be ridiculous but I'm also sure that the Chinese will violate all the usual patent laws and produce a cheaper unit in no time, like usual. Like I said, it looks too good to be true...
First step is to determine if there's any leaks in the air system This is done by building up the air pressure, either through the truck's air compressor or by utilizing shop air, and shutting the truck off. See if the system holds pressure or it bleeds off. If it bleeds off you've got a...
There ya go, that's a good enough reason. I've seen them on some 80's civilian chevy's around here, on a couple redneck rigs, I'll try to grab pics....
The tall/slim profile does have it's advantages off road but the NDT tread design negates that advantage. The handling and seriously reduced stopping power, of the NDT tread design, negates any minor increase in fuel mileage (the M1008 has the aerodynamics of a cinder block so I'm not sure of...
I don't doubt that they'd last forever, on an M1008, my issue is their on and off road performance is atrocious. I'd look at the Michelin XML 325/85/R16 military takeoffs. They do much better on/off road and will also last forever. The less expensive 37" Goodyear MT (HMMWV TAKEOFFS) is also...

I think the drop side beds are easier to shorten. Sawzall w/ a torch blade and a cutoff wheel make pretty quick work of it.
