This 813 runs like a bat out of h*ll. The larger tires didnt hurt the power at all & I have only had to downshift a couple times going up steeeeeep hills. At redline before (2300 rpms or so) it would go about 57-58mph......now 58mph is 1700 rpms. :mrgreen: Not all 5 tons run the same....so...

Definitely an awesome truck! I reeeeeally want one myself......but I will just have to save up & buy a restored one.....no more projects for me ;) lol Here the best ones I have seen.....

John - I am running 60psi on the front & 50psi in the rear on my M813 w/1600s. I am going to pump the front up to 75psi....it is still loose on the steering. How long did that take you to do? A day or so? What hardware is needed to bob a M818? Thanks! Daniel

Do you think that the rear tires will hit the bed???? Looks mighty close! So did you pretty much just unbolt the tractor parts, remove the rear axle, slide the middle axle backward & set it on 5ton front springs & extend the driveshaft? How did you fix your sprag problem? Looks great! :)

If you install a low air light, it is powered from the buzzer I believe. So, when the buzzer stops, the light goes off (no power going to it). You have, however, removed the buzzer & hooked full-time power into the light, which is why it is staying on all the time. If your air pressure gauge...

NOT A CHANCE! I have driven 2 M818s 500 miles one way & got 10mpg each. And....I drove 2 M813s 200 miles one way & got 9mpg each. A deuce gets 11mpg. OR 8mpg w/cargo cover on. I will NEVER drive my deuces around again.....they are like little pickup trucks. 5 tons are waaaaay better.

Off of a 5 ton? If it is complete....no more than $1500. 2cents

It will cook you alive. I removed mine. Personally, I would wait for cold weather & sell it on ebay. 2cents

I used budcaps on all 3 axles.....then attached the rims w/rear lugs. I did flip the hubs in the rear, however, they do NOT need to be flipped. All that is needed is to flip the rim around. I will NEVER flip 5 tons hubs again. I cannot explain how much trouble it was.

I just got done w/my M813 upgrade.... M813 W/W 16.00-20 Michelin XZLs 2 piece HEMTT rims :mrgreen: Meet my truck....."Chuck Norris". I flipped the rear hubs. It was a HUGE PITA!!!! I would not recommend it to anyone! I scraped off all the loose paint chips w/a putty knife & went over it...
