He does have a nice rig. He is a fellow collector I've know for many years. He rescued me years ago when I was broken down in a clay pit in my first scout car after some serious peer pressure caused me to exceed the limits of my equipment. Probably the only time in history a scout car was...
Not sure yet about the resto. I got it out of Texas. There was another nice one for sale in the area with all the rear armor but I couldn't afford it. Probably will return it to quad mount configuration. The truck is an F550 and the trailer has a 28ft. bed. It's not mine but i wish it was.
Go for it David I'll help you out with anything i can. I think it still has the data plate on the dash so that should have the manufacturers serial number stamped on it. Some halftracks that were rebuilt in the 50's have a generic data plate with WHITE stamped on it. Some of these were really...
Here is a great link to a ww2 short film on m16's and m15's. They credit the m15 with 78 kills in Tunisia.
US troops demonstrates the working of M-16 and M15 half-tracks in the United States.

Originally your m16 would have had a...
Curious what the frame serial number is? Does it match the number on the data plate?
The number should be located on the drivers side frame rail above the front shock.
I think they call that style crane an A frame gantry. It is very handy. I bought it used at a place that handles salvage metal that I scrounge goodies from. It is identical to the one sold in the Northern Tool catalog. Harbor freight has something similar. The safety factor alone makes it worth...
Tom,
I'm glad you are doing better and still enjoying the hobby when you can. [thumbzup]
All of my collection except for one scout car I have acquired since we first met online and you tried to help me out. My dad passed away about that time and i decided to restore a halftrack as a tribute to...
Yep it wasn't a problem he was just doing his job. He probably thought we came from the bar since we were yelling at each other trying to load up. The wind was blowing, it was cold and we were tired. I'm glad I didn't know there was a bar next door.
