I've been told that small children are more sensitive to loud noises and can suffer partial and even total hearing loss from horns like these.
This is something to bear in mind especially when in parades where both sites of the street is lined with children.
This post doesn't make sense. Then again --- if you’re just playing everyone on this forum to stir them up it makes perfect sense. How do you know that "two more come tomorrow via UPS?" How do you project into the future?
Also --- You say "I was happy just writing about my plans for the...
Yes --- That's correct.
When I did the LDT to LDS conversion I wasn't sure exactly that I needed plumbing wise so figuring Memphis Equipment would know what I needed I purchased a set of what they called "Reo Plumbing." I could have used the plumbing out of the LDT take-out engine but it is in...
When you get the lockers installed and the horsepower boosted are you still planning of driving "The Duke" off-road all the way from Alaska to Argentina as a promotion for Bio Diesel?
If so, are you still going to haul all the Bio Diesel for the trip in a trailer behind "The Duke?"
Somewhere buried in the TMs (and in one of my old posts) is a procedure for measuring droop screw (low end/RPM) and main setting (high endRPM) fuel settings by measuring boost pressure under load.
It involves running the truck in low gear at certain RPMs and applying maximum brakes and...
I bought a C-30 master cylinder but haven't installed it yet. I also bought a VL3350 combination (proportioning) valve and two VL3710K residual pressure valves from Master Power Brakes in Mooresville NC www.mpbrakes.com 888-533-1199. I should note that the proportioning valve also has a Nr...
I guess it's time I threw my hat in the ring also.
This is Rosie
I went on a wild spending binge when I built this truck and now that she is finished I don't drive her. This past year I doubt if I've put 200 miles on her. I'm going to paint the interior and do some touch up painting on the...
I've been running 6-Volt starters on 12-Volt M-37s for years.
The old 6-Volt starters were made so tough that they will hold up --- no problem. The key to success (as with any starter) it to not crank the engine for over a few seconds without letting the starter to cool down.
Also, when...
I voted "NO" on this survey. Having read the thread I have to say it's been informative to the point that my "NO" vote may have been in error.
I've always been against running propane in an M37 because of potential power drop "and" cold weather starting problems.
PropDr's comments about...
Before I found Olympic Controls I bought two in-tank pumps that were touted as checked out and in super duper working order. Both were crap. One started blowing fuses within a few days and the other flat out quit within a month.
Unlike a lot of trucks, Rosie won't start without an in-tank of...
For future consideration here is a modification that won't leak.
The frame in the attached pictures is for my M37 but the principle is the same.
Fed up with the rain and Minnesota winter coming in on me I went to a shop that builds cab components for heavy equipment and had a piece of...
One thing I've noticed about the electric fan is when I've installed the water pump fan for tests the force of the water pump fan spins the electric fan and causes the tattle-tale light to light up. The only thing I can figure is that the free spinning fan is working like and generator and is...
The fan I have (a Spal) is 24 volt and if memory serves me right it pulls 11 amps therefore there has never been an alternater/battery problem.
I've changed to all mechanical gauges including a mechanical oil temp gauge. With the removal of the water pump fan I was a little concerned that the...
Thanks for sending a link to your original thread.
That whole project is "so" ****ed cool :not worthy:
Thanks for taking the time to submit the thread/s

Getting back to getting more performance out of (souping up) the LDT:
As someone that has put a lot of thought into this subject and ended up taking the LDS swap-out route I have to agree somewhat with the poster that said something to the effect that trying to soup up the LDT is like gold...
