M54A2C pics search
Westy, I'm looking to just add better, clean shots of dropside multifuel 5-tons to my personal "stash" of reference photos. One thing I do for fun is build plastic models (again), and I'm definitely planning on an M/F 5-ton as a project. So to answer your question, I am...
Hey all. I figured out that my old photo albums are not around anymore, it wasn't the first thing on my list to do today so instead of searching for the old SS albums, I just started a new one. I put a few photos in from a recruiting setup our unit put together at a recent car show...
Hey everyone. FWIW, here's a link to my album site that includes some hi-res pics of my Tiger family models I've been working on, in addition to other stored images of stuff that I am using for model reference ideas.
By no means are these models finished; they are in a very transitional state...
New site is super. Thanks for the effort!
Mike, nice job on the new look for SS. I think it is a great thing....kinda funny going back to view some of the stuff on the "old" (gen2??) site, it sure looks - plain!
Really dig the looks & the function seems right on. I'm pretty familiar with this...
plasitc model kits
thanks for an excellent response, that is exactly the sort of detail I was looking for. I could spend all day on Armorama or some of the other modeling forums, but I figured I'd try the crew here first!

I'm trying to decide which manufacturer to pick from to build some of the more late-model US tactical vehicles and armor. Specifically, Dragon; Tamiya, AFV Club, Trumpeter, Italeri, Academy. I'm trying to figure out if anyone has done a variant of an M113, for example, and found "brand...
Re: RE: helping a plain jane M35A2 with M-series updates...q
you don't see the rust from that angle, nice trick photography on my part...
but it doesn't really have much rust except for the replacement tailgate. it's kinda straight, but pretty rusty. I'll be dealing with that soon enuff.

My rusty old '70 deuce is as plain as they come - never got the heater/slave adapter updates; no winch, no hardtop, plain plain PLAIN.
All the parts/complete kits are advertised by everyone under the sun, but half the time they are out of stock - I'm not knockin anyone, just had that...
Hey Josh, good to see you're around - how's duty stateside in Iowa treating you? Your unit's been working during the flood season? Back earlier this summer, my mom's hometown, Charles City, got pretty flooded...it even destroyed the old suspension bridge (or whatever that was called)....did you...
gear used in SG units
Thanks for the reply, SCSG G-4 - does your handle mean you are G-4 slot in your outfit?
And, yea, I am well aware of Patrick (OPCOM)'s commo setup on his truck - in fact, IIRC, he originally bought that truck and setup from Jeff/TacticalTruck way up here in VA...
commo boxes on trailers
thanks for the photos, Kenny - I had an MV mag from several years ago with a reader-submitted photo of the S250 shelter/M105 trailer combo behind a deuce. That's what got me started on the thought process.
basically, I'm creating a kind of a layout for the deuce that...
Hey, I was looking for some pix of what the S250-style commo boxes look like on the ton and a half trailers.
Anybody here drag around such a combo with their deuce or 5-ton?
thanks
FMTV
FWIW,
I routinely piloted a cab forward landscape truck virtually identical in design to the Mitsubishi mikepop used, and that the FMTV takes its style cues from.
While I do agree that the modern cab forward approach is wonderful for over-the-road missions, it seems like the off-road...
orionspath's tan deuce
BTW Pete,
your M35 looks real nice - and that paint match was great, coming from the rustoleum!
I also noticed the flapper on your exhaust tip. Did your truck come to you like that?
sorry to hijack the thread, mods...
