    Need a bolster trailer

As much as I like the 280 shelter up in the bed of the duece it keeps me from using the beast for a hauler (and makes the fuel milage suck). I was thinking I might mount the sheter to a bolster trailer and tow it when needed. Anyone have one near me. I'm in NE Alabama. Pics, price appreciated.

Shelter loaded on Deuce or Wreckerman's MV RV

I got the shelter loaded on the duece today. We used a rollback to do the deed (forgot the digital, sorry). The driver slid the shelter halfway up on the rollback, I backed the duece up to it, he raised the bed of the rollback up and slid the shelter into the bed of the duece. Went in easy...

    Wreckerman flipped his Deuce

Well.........not the whole truck. On Saturday myself and my knowlegeable sidekick Freight Train flipped the hubs on my duece. My intent is to eventually run super single radials on the beast so I am getting prepped. We got started about 10 am and worked through the heat of the day until about 5...

    Deuce electrical glitch

I knew things were going too good with my deuce. When I first got her home she had headlights and brake lights but no turn signals or emergency flashers. Today I was trying to get the turn signals working and discovered I have nothing but blackout drive lights, front and rear. I took the turn...

    What do we have here?

I just bought a bunch of these from GL. I don't have a clue as to what they are/were used for. The small plug on the end seems to be there to plug a 24 volt something or other into. I suspect the MRE heaters that I see occasionally on GL. The cord is eleven feet long and will reach to the...

    A3 deuce rims

I was prowling around a private junk yard today and I happened across some deuce A3 rims. The owner was not there but I have his number and left a mesage that I was interested in some tires he has. Are these tubeless rims if you use the radial 12.5x20? What would be a fair price per rim. They...

    Wreckerman's diabolic hitch conversion invention

Never underestimate the inginuity of a redneck with a welder. I am probably going to buy the rest of the chemical shelter trailers and scrap them out. To maximize the profit margin I needed a way to hook them to a Reese type hitch and eliminate the delivery charge (saving 50 bucks per...

Reverse engineering the Chem Shelter Trailer

Well, I took all of last week off and caught up on some projects. One that I had been picking away at was rendering the Chemical Shelter Trailer down to it's basic components. I had removed and sold a lot of the aluminum that was strapped on or easy to remove. This time I had to arm myself with...

    Wreckerman got one!!!!!

I finally took the plunge and won a deuce off of GL today at Fort Jackson, SC. Hard top, winch, airshift and "redneck gun turret". [thumbzup] I paid $ 1700.00 before GL and South Carolina get their pound of flesh. As soon as I get the EUC, Freighttrain and I will go over and bring her...

    Daisy chain towing deuces

Has anyone ever flat towed more than one deuce using two tow bars. The vehicles I have in mind are parts trucks without engines or trannys so weight is decreased a lot. I can't cut them up where they sit. My big concern would be no brakes on the towed vehicles because of the engines being...

    Wild deuces

Yesterday, while on a story assignment at a training area here at Fort Benning, Ga., my photographer and I happened across a pair of wild deuces (Truckus Gigantacus). We were able to observe them in their natural environment and I managed to get close enough to the male (they have the big winch...

    Frozen landing gear steering

The now infamous Chemical Shelter Trailer has heaped more grief on me today. I moved it into the shop with my tractor and put it in the center of the building while I did my trouble shooting on the systems. I now need to get my son's car out of the shop and therein lies the problem. I need to...

    Chemical Shelter engine

While I was resting and celebrating Robert E. Lee's birthday on Monday I decided to see if the engine that powers the Chemical Shelter trailer would fire off. Myself and Freight Train had made a successful parts run to Double Deuce's place near Montgomery on Sat. I scored an original 24 volt...

    Disabled SS Veterans

I came across these two on a Christmas day trip to Jamestown,Tn. It looks like they could have been used in the logging business. I thought the rim might be of interest, not one I have seen. An ignoble end to heavy green metal. If anyone is interested in a rescue mission...

    Pics of "pipeline deuce"

I managed to drag my gimpy butt over to look at the "2 1/2 ton military truck" that was advertised in the local buy/sell rag. It is an actual pipeline deuce. There is a data plate on the bed behind the cab. It has two winches and the boom poles are still there. The bed has wood on the deck that...
