I had been PM'ing with someone who needed a rack to mount AC/heaters to the front of a big dropdeck milvan.
I accidently deleted the PM's while cleaning my mailbox and need to send pics to the person.
If you are them please PM me and I'll send the pics.
The Warrior-Patriot-Resources organization that I work for bought a steam cleaner through GL at Fort Stewart, GA. It is on my account but they paid for it.
We have an appt to pick up before noon on Thursday.
We may not have a truck in the area by then.
Can anyone pick it up and hold?
It is...
Sometime befor the end of April I will be going to OKC to pick up two lots of stuff I bought off GL.
They were picked up for me and are being held at a warehouse in OKC.
I will be going out empty in my Dodge dually. I have a 28 foot gooseneck I can take with me but I can get my items in the...
I need an Inter-Vehicular cable for my deuce tractor.
For those not versed in military lingo that is the cable that goes from the tractor to the trailer. It looks like the trailer connection on a 105 trailer except that it has two male ends.
I will buy out right or horse trade parts for said item.
I have decided to trade my bob deuce for a deuce tanker.
I will be leaving Thursday evening and going to Davie, Florida where the exchange will take place.
My intent is to drive the tanker back if it is road worthy.
We should be leaving early Monday morning.
My return route will probably be...
I am considering trading my bob deuce to a fellow SS member way down yonder below Miami.
To help defray cost I will be hauling the bob deuce and a regular deuce bed on a 28 foot gooseneck.
If anybody has items I can use to fill out the load and would contribute to the fuel fund I can deliver...
What started out as a parts delivery by AMGeneral has morphed into a mini-rally at Papa Bears place in Columbus, GA.
Tenative date is 7 March.
Members from the Alabama Green Iron Mafia will be there as will other assorted green iron addicts from other locations.
Feel free to join us in our green...
I am on a leave of absence from my primary employer.
If anyone needs items picked up and transported fom GL sites near me PM me with details and I will work with you on arranging it.
I can pick up and ship to you via the usual suspects or arrange truck transport through contacts I have with...
When I was at Clinto's rally last year I was given some military issue shelter halves (GP Tinys).
Since my days of sleeping in pup tents are long over I was racking my brain to come up with a useful purpose for them.
I have several spring seats and the covering on all of them are FUBAR.
I am...
Well, I traded the M52 for a deuce tractor today.
Got it from a logger that found out it wouldn't pull a log trailer on the road.
I was aided and abeted by my long suffering sidekick Freightrain.
He was at the Primary LZ doing an autopsy on the engine in the 816.
Last week we had a cold snap in AL, it got down to 18 degrees, so I needed to add anti-freeze to the 816 wrecker.
Since I had two hot batteries I figured there would be no prob starting even though it was already in the 20's with a frigid wind blowing out of the west.
I cranked her up and she...
The wrecker is now mission capable and I decided to put it to work today.
Freightrain had two multi-fuel engines double parked in my tractor shed and a M105 stashed behind it. I had been storing some stuff in the 105 since we got back from the GA rally.
I emptied the trailer and using the...
Well after two days of wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth I have the M816, the M109 and the M36 at my new LZ.
All of them made it back without incidient and the wrecker is a strong runner (thanks to Papa Bear for the transplanted engine).
I like the M36 so much I may keep it if I can sell...
Here are some pics of the bob deuce that I put the flat bed on.
Still haven't permanantly attached the bed since it has to be painted.
I did all the fab work on the exhaust.
Hey folks. Tomorrow or Sat I will try to move the 816 to it's new home. It has been at an alternate LZ while getting repowered.
I am working nights this week and have limited access to the computers at work. When I am home I am sleeping or getting ready to do another 12 hours at the plant.
I...
Well, not the whole tank. But I got brand new bustle racks (what the crew stows gear and other stuff on) for sale.
For the armor deficient out there the bustle rack is on the rear of the turret opposite the BFG.
You can start with the rack and build you very own M-1 around it.
Or you can cut...
I decided to do something different with my bob deuce so instead of the 105 bed I had originally planned to use I found a factory built flatbed at my buddy's junkyard.
Since I plan to have dual stack exhaust between the cab and bed I needed something shorter than the 105.
The flatbed is 8x8 and...
I have been informed that my bolster trailer has two tires that are very dry rotted.
We were planning to haul it to the GA rally loaded with stuff to deliver to fellow SS members and items for sale.
The tire size is errr........ARGHH, I FORGOT aua aua aua
Anyway....if you know the size tire...
Unless my failing memory is mistaken I think I remember a thread that showed how to use a tow bar on a winch truck to lift heavy objects such as engines.
If someone could provide a link I would be greatful.
