    Ft.Drum, NY

Just got word that Bob of Comvec will be making the trip. I just wanted to emphasize that you can fill out the registration at the gate if need be, so if you think it is too late to get your registration mailed in on time you can do so when you arrive at the base. The form for a vehicle...

What does your pyro read at speed?

I set my fuel inmy truck so it cruises at 850-900 and works at 1050-1100 tops. I am more concerned about preserving my motor health than power as we just did head gaskets due to oil leakage and while we had the manifolds off we installed the pyrometers: Pre and Post turbo. The other factor...

NYPENN MVCC is organizing a convoy to the event on Friday June 17th travelling along RT 12 and Rt 26 to the gate where we are supposed to check in. The route will begin in Binghamton at 0900 at Lowes on Upper Front Street (Rt 12) and will continue north with stops in Norwich, and Trenton Falls...

Changing Head gaskets and dual EGT gauge test program

Added note of interest: I replaced my stack with muffler with a stock stack and noticed a 50 degree drop in EGTs. There is no apprent change in power. Thought I would pass this along. RL

    Spring Seat Adjustment

Where is your front tires air pressure set at? If you have them at 50 PSI it could explain why you are hitting the roof on the bumps....I run my fronts at 40 rears at 30 and I am running with 4000 payload all the time. I adjusted this to keep the tires wearing evenly and they have been wearing...

    Brake cylinder wisdom

While you have the hubs off, you can pack the wheel bearings and inspect and/or replace the seals. Oh, you will need the 8 sided 3" socket to deal with the nuts on the spindle.

    M105A2 actual rated payload

Functionally, the limit on the M105 is the tires. You can only safely haul what they can handle. While the springs and other components are more than sturdy enough, you cannot get around this last issue. RL

Don't want to beat a dead horse but....

EGTs are usually high when you are working the truck...throttle full, and not at max RPM. You are injecting as much fuel as you would use at 2600 at 1800 and the fuel unburned in the compbustion chambers is burned on its way out which is bad for the turbo and pistons and other expensive parts...

    Most MV Friendly State(s)

As much as New York State is a pain in the rear tax wise and otherwise, I think I am doing fairly well as far as keeping my deuce here. I renewed my Historic plates and insurance for under a C note. I do have to have it inspected annually but with the truck registered for under 18000...

    Removing Master Cylinder

As I recall, if you turn the master on its side; which way I do not remember; it will come out through the hole fairly easily. I have done it three times on my deuce. I would add, I did not remove the Airpack either. Best of luck RL

military mic on a civvy cb

Typical Military Microphones use a carbon element. These different in impediance from the electret microphones in a typical CB mike. Even so, it is possible to use the carbon element equipped microphone. I would say this is trial and error and I am not sure of other differrnces in how the...

    Info on Diesel Fuels

Sulphur is not the the lubricant. It is removed to prevent sulfur dioxide emissions. The process for removing the sulphur DESTROYS the lubricating properties of the fuel. As I mentioned in a previous post, the original test program discovered that the ULSD would destroy a new style injection...

    Info on Diesel Fuels

Super Tech is refined for Walmart By Warren Petroleum out of NC if I am not mistaken. They are highly regarded and do a lot of refining for fleets and other retailers. I am not concerned about the viscosity as once it is mixed it is diluted to such a degree that the relative viscosity of the...

Changing Head gaskets and dual EGT gauge test program

Thank you Bjorn! JATONKA and I have a lot of respect for the work you have done in studying and understanding the multi and what it can do and what it should not do. I am simply adding what I have observed to the database that is Steel Soldiers and hopefully someone will dig up this thread...

Injection Pump Booster Pump Seal, where?

I got a part number of 5330-470-6695 from the drawings. This crosses to SE1034 AMBAC part number. The drawing is on page 194 B-5 Part #3 if I have this right and the part is referenced on page 182 SEAL. PLAIN. ENCASED: fuel pump driven gear SE1034 (01843). I am not sure how...

Changing Head gaskets and dual EGT gauge test program

My work is done for now I finished my adjustment and study work on my Deuce Saturday, a few days later than I had hoped but somethings come before others.... "Well, today dawned nicely and I finally was caught up enough to continue tinkering with the deuce. I believe I am finished based on my...
