Soni, I think my most pressing question for you is: with the amount of attention you draw on the roads in your (inventively improved) fleet of MVs, how do you avoid getting ticketed for "having too much fun"?
:recovry4x4:
Don't apologize robson, every question you ask is one someone else doesn't have to. IMO it's part of what makes this forum so helpful.
...on the other hand, it is always better to read first and then try to expand the envelope of information rather if at all possible.
I've had three experiences with GP, and all of them have been pretty positive. Two trailers from NNSY in Portsmouth, VA and one M929 from Scottsburg, VA (an non-base gravel lot owned by a logging company). A little slow on Title generation, but other than that I haven't have any complaints...
I'd also like to say thanks to CARNAC for providing the service and doing so for such a worthy cause. Would it be possible (and would CARNAC be opposed to) building a database of known earliest and latest VINs by year and model/NSN based on CARNAC's now-public information? If possible (and not...
Thanks for that TM, cdre.
Has anyone had trouble with a leaking oil pressure switch? I have a dripping leak from the plastic sensor part (not the metal adapter that threads into the block) and haven't had any luck finding it based on either the part number (SM-2B-15F) or NSN...
Looked promising, but was unsuccessful on my bids. Interesting stuff coming in the next cycle, but I doubt I could have it off base before the 30th.
Unfortunately that probably means I'm out...
*wonders if it'd be worth the savings to have FastTrack off-base it to some nearby location to await a further transportation by wheelspinner*
I'm in almost the same boat, Andrmorr. I'll hopefully have 10 days from today, assuming I'm successful.
Just to check...by "small boxes" I'm hoping...
Still in for a three-way meet in Asheboro if anyone in the area can do a pick-up from Groveport (which it looks like is only a hop, skip, and a jump from Lockbourne anyway). Small boxes.
[P.S. - Not to highjack, but your "Ace-and-a-half" is one heck of an attractive non-MV, wheelspinner.]
I'll add onto this: if there's a Lockbourne, OH connection on SS I'm sure you could find a decent load to haul towards Burlington.
I say this as a freshly-bitten green iron guy who is an easy drive from Burlington...and also watches items coming out of Lockbourne.
SO STOKED that there's another one of these builds to watch. Please know that all of the time it takes out of your project to take pictures and write-up your progress is hugely appreciated by many of us on-lookers.
Thanks Csm Davis,
From the data plate imagery I figured it wasn't an antenna trailer but a cable/networking type deal. Looking at some antenna trailers though, you may be right. I was really hoping someone might have an image of one in service with the rest of the equipment attached. Maybe...
I'm actually not 100% sure what my trailer was supposed to be, and any help on it would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty sure it's on an M116A3 chassis, but the boxes are unusual. I haven't gotten much information searching data plate info, either. Anyone happen to have seen one of these in...
Cook - Congrats on the M1101! I've got a similar setup and love it. Dozens of those guys in seemingly unused condition have sold from Fort Bragg in the past couple of months. Bummed I haven't been able to pull the trigger on one yet. How much weight do you think you and/or your buddy have...
Kinda hate to resurrect a four year old thread, but I just got home from a Virginia DMV 'Express' office (small town) and needed to vent. I bought an HDT G.E.T. and had ZERO luck transferring the FL title for it. Bought the FL title, not just an SF97, through GP based on the selling...
