I would have to agree with Heavysteven,- these trucks could be expensive and undependable-
you'll need a good source for parts, and a good selection of tools- big truck size, have mechanical
ability or pay somebody else to work on your truck, and once you take it for a few long trips, and
feel...
The heater assembly come out of a 80ish chevy pickup. You'll have to make a 3 inch hole in the firewall to allow
the petruding motor to set past the firewall, and then 2) 1 inch holes for the heater core inlet and outlet connections.
There will be 4) 1/4 inch housing mounting bolts that also...
It was bought to my attention that the bars were sightly in the way of the head light beam at night ( I don't drive
these trucks at night).. but you never know whats planed for us in the future. :roll:
Here is another look at the tow bar receptical - also as a front mount attached to the winch.
But I have been playing with the idea of mounting the bars under the front bumper into the same bracket.
As far as weight conserns on the front bumper, I have been looking into putting a hydraulic 12 volt pump with a
storage tank and valves with 2) detachable hydraulic rams placed into a welded cylinder placement behind the
bumper and placing the rams inside the cylinders with a quick disconect...
The red button is for the 160 amp relay for the rear, otherwise there is power going to the rear of the
the truck through a #2 welding cable attached to the crane.
The heater core is out of a chevelot pickup about 35,000 BTU I was told and mounted right in -
more than enough heat and air flow...
Try air pressure to the tank inlet with a rag wraped around the opening ( restrict the pressure - don't over pressure)
and disconect the hose to the motor and attach a length of rubber hose to it- apply pressure to fuel tank
and have lots of containers near by.
As far as the crane, I picked it up a auction about a year ago along with a truck body for $400
sold to the truck body for scrap, rebuilt and lengthen the hand held remote, and had the electric
motor for crane winch rebuilt.
I tryed to install a small gas driven motor with a HD alternater I had...
