How many M101 trailers on semi?

How many M101 trailers can you haul on 53' semi trailer? Anyone got pics of a "full load"?

    M915A1s are home

Thanks to Warthog, M813A1, and Tackettr for helping me unload, store and move a couple of my M915A1s. These came in from Camp Lejuene a few weeks ago and Warthog had been storing them at his place until we could convoy them across town. We got the convoy part handled over the weekend with...

    New Style HEMTT Valvestems

Due to leak/failure problems with the original valvestems and the need for an extension, the Army is currently buying an improved HEMTT valvestem that is longer and allows you to air up the wheel from either side. Now I haven't personally encountered any problems with the old style, but I do...

    Which Trucks have Wet Lines?

I know the newer M870 trailers use wet lines, but I don't know what tractors are used to pull them. M916A9? FMTV? MTVR?

    Lejuene M915A1

I ended up with an extra M915A1 from Camp Lejuene last week. I would rather not send a full semi to pick up this half load. If anyone would be interested in buying it and picking up directly from the base, please send me a PM. I would also be open to purchasing a second truck from that sale...

    M870 is a handy trailer!

The legend himself showed up with his M920A1 and M870 trailer. Wow, what a combination! This is the second time I have seen "The Monster", but the first time I have seen the M870 folding neck in action. The rear winch on the M920A1 is used to lower and/or raise the neck on the M870. Once you...

    Installing 20" Runflat Beadlocks

I have some 20" runflat beadlocks I want to install in 16R20 tires. Has anyone ever done this? It looks a little imtimidating and reverse childberth comes to mind. :-( Does anyone know if Red River Army Depot, Oklahoma National Guard, Fort Riley, or Fort Sill handle these types of...

    Upgrading M813A1 to 14R20s

Well today was the day to get some new shoes on M813A1's M813A1. We took advantage of the great weather to install some HEMTT 2 piece wheels and Michelin XL 14R20 tires. I'll post up the pics and let M813A1 give an assessment of the driveability, as I have yet to ride in it!

    Hooks Trailer Pick Up 12/07/09

We are planning a Steel Soldiers convoy from OKC to Hooks to pick up some M105 and M871 trailers on Monday 12/7. As these are 8 miles away from the normal GL location, the site rep told me that no loadout equipment/facilities/assistance was available. I was hoping they would at least have a...

    Kenworth PLS 8x8 Pics/Videos

Got to spend some time with the Kenworth PLS over the weekend. It took about 5 mins to unload the M6 Dump Body and then load the M10 Water Distributor Module. Talk about handy! Here are some pics and videos.

    South Wind Heater Test Data

I got in a few more of the South Wind fuel burning cab heaters and noticed they have a card showing test data for each unit. The one I opened shows date tested to be 1-6-87. Is anyone interested in this data? Cranetruck maybe? I'm not sure I can get it posted electronically but could always...

    Pulling M198A1 dolly with M1009

This was a hoopty looking setup! I think the dolly weighs in at 3,250# and is about all I would want to tow with the M1009 (no brakes and no lights). It was a little bouncy and the fifth wheel did flip forward a few times. I was able to pull it 150 miles or so without any problems.

    NDCC 11.00x20 Wear Pattern

Check out the wear (contact) pattern on these 11.00x20 NDCC tires. No wonder these things are obsolete. Granted, these tires pictured are on an unladen dolly trailer. I am switching everything I can over to the new and improved radials.

    Hunter Heater

Anyone familiar with the tent heaters made by www.hunterheater.com ? I have not had any luck in getting mine to operate. It only has 106 hours on the clock, but it might be DOA. I have tried to diagnose with the manual but can't get any lights on the controller. It looks to be very...

Tire Size Comparison 16 vs 14 vs 15.5

I get a lot of questions regarding tire sizes. Here is a comparison pic to show the difference between 16R20, 14R20, 15.50/80R20, all in the Michelin XL tread pattern. They measure about 52", 49" and 46", respectively. Any of these sizes will work as super singles on a 5 ton, with only the 15.5...
