I just installed one on my NHC250 this past weekend. I put it on the flat part just after the y. I can post a pic later.
Not sure if it is the best place but it works ok.
I have removed three of them and they can be a bear. I put a wedge at the back, some PB blaster, a little heat and a big hammer.
Hit it from sides and from top and bottom, repeat if needed.
No the one plug that is there is to go in the open hole when you are fording in water. Is it coming from the hole, maybe rear main seal. But it looks like it is coming from the oil pan area.
Did they over fill it? Or not get the filter on right?
The TM's are in the Technical Manuals at the top of the page. Preload, You torque the nut down to 50 ft/lb then back it off 1/4 turn.
Then set the lock tab and torque the outside nut to 175 ft/lb. If I remember right.
I have one like that on my M35A2, I think it is a good idea to let the truck idle and cool down and the turbo spin down a little before you shut it down.
It is a lot of work and $$$ to get the full setup for the LWS, but in the end it is worth it. I have a hard top that is in bad shape and needs some work, my plan is to cut a hole in it and add hatch to it.
