So are you going to buy it or what?? I see you found that one too...
I was looking at a couple of ones for sale by my house. I saw an older one that looks similar to that but looks to be mid 50's I'm gonna go by and get some pics of it soon. I also notice that the owner had what looked...
RE: fording kit
Is there a TM out there that would show what all goes with the fording kit?
I looked through the TM's but nothing really stood out.
I'll continue looking through the Tm's that I have to see if their buried in there some where.
Am I thinking that the pin that fell out is the one with a spring loaded ball in the end/side if the pin to allow for "easy" removal.
Anybody???
I was crawling around underneath mine last week looking things over and saw the 1/2" dia. or so pin that appeared to have had the nut sheared off...
That was me that did the conversion. The reason I did it was because when I bought the trailer it had no lights on it at all. Apparently it had been used as a parts trailer and had been stripped so I put some off the shelf lights on it so I could pull it behind my non military Blazer. When I...
The brakes won't work unless you have an air system that will send an air pulse to the trailer. There is a Pintle surge brake system that you could adapt to the trailer.
especially since the m105 weighs 2440 lbs empty. makes it pretty hard to put much more than 1200 - 1500 lbs in the trailer then pull it behind a 1/2 ton. I did that for a couple of years and it made for some interesting trips. :D
It looks like I need to get in the the rear axle to replace the outer oil seal or repair/ replace the cork plug. I've done some searching for a size of the socket to remove the axle nut. I've gome up with a 3" socket. Is this correct?
If not what is the correct size?
I didn't say "jerk" it... Hook the trailer up to the Deuce then attach your tractor to the back end of the Trailer. Then remove the cotter pin from the nut that holds the pintle in place and back off the nut about an inch then apply tension on the eye by pulling back with you tractor so your...
It sounds like to me you need to put your gap to .020 to allow for thermal expansion during hard long braking.
I had an old truck the the e=brake cable would hand up on. The truck would work fine at first but once you started working the brakes it would start dragging until it would lock up.
That is one heck of a rig you've got there!!! I'd love to see it in person. I may have to make my way north to check it out some time..
Keep up the good work.
So both the 350 and the 400 have a 1.00 third gear so the tranny wont have an effect on the final rpm. And the more I think about it 3000 rpm at 65mph is more accurate.
Maybe this will help in your decision on what gears you want to run..
With a turbo350, 3.73 gears and 35" tall tires my engine turns about 3000 rpm at 60 mph. Figure that there is about 200 - 300 rpm higher due to the slip of an automatic tranny.
I'm not sure what the Rev limit is on the...
RE: AFA
There was an air force deuce at Ft Lewis today had a license plate on the back stating US Air force. I had Deuce of spades take a pic of it. Hopefully he'll post it. similar in color as the one posted above.
I love the blazer platform no matter what year it is. I've got a '73 with the fully removable hard top.
Skip the 3.73's if you wanna do some serious off road playing with the 35's and go to at least 4.11.
I've got 35's and 3.73's on my blazer right now, and have been running them for years...
