I bid on that one! Stopped at the 25K mark-watched the high bid as the clock ticked down. It was agonizing to let her go. Glad she has a good home.

Wear a good mask first. CARC is bad.
On the rust- I use a 40 grit to remove then POR 15. I buy the small tiny cans-they come in a 6-pack. Get the brushes too. Once a can is open, it goes bad even after closing lid. This paint is super tough and seals out oxygen so rust cant live. Do a light sand...
Need four S788 HMMV shelters and one S280 (14 ft) enclosure shipped Chambersburg PA to St Paul MN. This week would work. Have access to common carrier but thought maybe an opportunity for an SS member.

I have both an A2 and A3. The A2 is a classic-looks better.
A3 looks more Russian -to me anyway.
A2-loud and a little clunky. A3, drives like a bus and a bit quieter. If you plan on driving in the country without stop lights-A2. If you live in urban area, A3. Having owned many airplanes, sports...
I used (12) cans to do my M35A3 cab only-used Four green, four brown and four flat black. Had some left over. Recently did my M923 that was all green-the cab took 12 cans total. I would double that if you are going to do bed and frame.
I am slowly getting a new jacket on her. New shoes to follow-bigguns. She will look nearly as good as she runs. Used Rapco rattle cans-about 70 dollars worth on the cab-that and a bunch of elbow grease to get her into a good 50 footer. Box is next.
Progress photo. Have the battery relocation box mounted but not wired yet. The truck came from GL with tired single color paint and surface rust here and there. I have been working on painting it camo. Pictures show finished first coat. The before and after pictures shows how well the new...
I have two A3's that had this wobble. I fixed them both by airing up the fronts to 50 PSI. I run the backs at 45 PSI and have the CTIS shut off. If this does not fix it, take a closer look at your tires. Due to CTIS system failure-most M35A3's you see on lots will have flat tires. When they sit...
Bob,
I was thinking on the bale of hay and feed route for my big truck. I do have a big cage with chicken wire on it-could keep that in the back.
The 5 ton has a nice transmission and power steering but rides like-well just like a truck. She bucks and kicks like a bronco. I prefer the ride in my...
I went out to my shop and checked my A3-I have a G plate on it.
On the farm plate deal-I have read the MN regulations. It makes no mention of what a "farm" is. It talks about hauling fertilizer and farm stuff, but it also speaks to logging ops.
I too have 5 acres-do lots of tree cutting (oak...
I have my A3's titled Commercial-Y plate. If you dont use truck for hire, no inspect. I have them plated at less than 26K-cant remeber but think its more like 15K or so.
Have an M923 5-ton titled as Farm Vehicle. If you license as farm its very inexpensive, limited to 150 miles from home but can...
I have finally founfd the Technical Bulleting online. Its downloadable and covers paint and camo patterns for every MV.

tb43-0209 - TECHNICAL BULLETIN COLOR MARKING CAMOUFLAGE
Great job here-workmanship and attention to detail. Shows a lot of elbow grease can go a long way. Question-is there a noticeable difference in sound level?

I have two A3's-one with GoodYear 395's and the other with the stock Michelins. Big tires give a little more of a bouncy ride and lower RPM and slower off the line. The other truck with stock Michelins had a bad shake with the fronts at 45-so I pumped them up to 52. No more shake, no bounce and...
I oiled mine-it got better. It is however, not one fingered. Double check the air supply hose that goes from the frame to the pitman arm-chances are it is leaking. I oiled mine through this hose.
