I have some last minute loading and organizing to do, and it is off to Gilbert.... Now, SRJEEPER, this forecast is totally unacceptable...This chance of showers stuff has to go!!!!!! I got rained on last weekend when I was deployed with the incident response group I am part of so enough is...

New Style Air Brake Switch issue. Air Pack stuck?

The air lines look correct as far as I can tell. The copper line that is at the bottom is the vent line of the air pack. You should have the switch hooked into the same line that goes to the rear service brake gladhand. RL

Got the rifle holder mounted today

I bought my rifle mount kit on EBAY. I use it when I am travelling to the mountains to carry the rifles. Typically I carry an M1 CARBINE and a Ruger 10/22. If you look quick, they both look like M1's. If I am going to be in and out of the truck, I do lock them to the bracket with a couple of...

    E-bay seller warning

I bought a couple of things from him with no issues. They came well packed and in fine shape. Ebay is a tool, like every other source we have for parts. If you buy from an individual I suggest that it take place in person unless you already know that this person is 100%. I guess buying on...

It's a military vehical but it's not what you think

I am pleasantly surprised at how many here who are addicted to the OD GREEN are also addicted in some way to Steam or railroading big and small! I have been a railfan since college and have walkeda lot of grades long since abandoned and seen the evolution of the 12" to the foot type of modell...

How should i lube control cables

The easiest way to llube a heater control cable is to disconnect the end at the heater and pull the control cable out CAREFULLY until the cable itself shows. Spray some lube down the cable housing and then on the solid portion of the control cable and reassemble and those should work nice and...

    steering bump ?

You can simply put a listening stick against uyour skull near your ear. It actually works better than way than against your ear itself. RL

painting with an air paintgun, 101

The only thing I know is this..Cleanliness is next to Godliness...don't be messy and keep the outside clean...next thing is to clean the gun IMMEDIATELY after spraying. The longer you wait the harder it is to clean the gun. I use an HVLP and I remove the nozzle and soak it in Lacquer thinner...

    steering bump ?

Chances are since it occurs every turn of the wheel that it is either a top bearing in the column, or the steering gear itself. Disconnecting the drag link is one way of isolating the steering gear from the linkage. Once you have eliminated the steering box, jack the front end up and have an...

Reached a Milestone with the Deuce

Mine was 340 round trip to NJ and back this spring. About 4 hours down, and then three days later 4 hours back. Then there was the trip into the Adirondacks to retreive a generator, and a round about loop back to home with a couple of stops along the way and that one was 300+ and I stayed in...

Reached a Milestone with the Deuce

That is a great feeling, when you have put a significant amount of miles on your deuce. I put just shy of 3000 on mine last year and expect to do the same this year and the truck simply does what it does so well... That is a tribute to the deisgners and their expertise that we can simply take...

painting with an air paintgun, 101

If your spray gun does not have a regulator on the handle you will need a good regulator to control the pressure at the gun. I use a mini regulator on my HVLP and run high pressure to the gun. You will have to prime the surfaces and that is a great chance to gain the experience in proper mixing...

M35+S-280 vs M109 inside and outside dimensions

I guess the "Rest of the Sotry" is whatever works works....I like my shelter and considered trading for a Shopvan body and decided to keep it. I imagine for some, the lack of windows is a big problem and may be somewhat claustrophobia inducing. I could care less. I like how snug and warm...

    towing capacity

Besides the legality issues, I would never take such a load on the interstate....that is just asking for a visit from a LEO with no sense of humor. It does matter a whit if the deuce can do it.....Heavens knows they will do anything if you have the time..... There are times when it best to...
