    Siping tires

Anyone tried it with NDT's? Bjorn, you mentioned it in a previous post. I was at a Discount Tire store yesterday and they had brochures on it. The brochure referenced www.sipers.com website. Apparently, Discount Tire is offering the service. I was just picking up a car with a friend, wasn't...

    Clutch pedal travel to engagement

What are you guys seeing for clutch pedal location (distance from floor) before your clutch engages? Does the deuce, when free travel is adjusted per the manual, follow along with most other mechanical clutches in that, the more the clutch is worn, the farther from the floor it engages? Will a...

    Driver seat back replacement foam?

I was going to install a new seat back canvas cover on the air ride drivers seat this weekend, but when I began unstapling the folds at the bottom, I saw the foam is crumbling/disentegrating. Any suggestions on where to get a replacement? It is a pre-molded foam piece.

What is that mount thing behind the pass seat for?

Sorry that I don't have a pic, but someone must know what I am talking about. There is a little angle bracket welded to one of the vertical cab supports behind the pass seat. It has a 1"+ diameter hole, and four tiny screw holes around it. Anyone know what this was for?

Fuel filters, additives, water in fuel, bacteria, etc

In response to the comments in the post on multifuel filters regarding water in fuel, etc, I am posting a GM bulletin that discusses the use of additives in diesel fuel for those interested. I understand that this info comes with approval from Racor, who is the supplier of the Duramax fuel...

    Crankcase breather filter

Bjorn, what did you use for your filter? I see the pic on your website, but cannot tell if the canister itself is a homemade job or something else. I am thinking of putting one on my truck, the existing vent is making a mess of my front axle. I plan to put a petcock in the bottom for easy...

    Easier alternator removal/installation

I was doing some more work on the deuce today, and in removing the alternator I finally got fed up with messing with the nut and bolt arrangement within that hard to reach area. I took off the mounting bracket and welded the nuts to the brackets. Yeah, I know about welding to cast iron and...

    Passenger seat comfort improvement

A couple of my friends have complained about the passenger seat comfort in the past. I never spent any real time in the pass seat, but didnt think it was that bad. I usually just told them "Sorry about YOUR luck, my AIR RIDE seat is just fine!" Anyways, while in the middle of...

    Air cleaner housing mods

Looking at my air cleaner housing, I see a 3/4" diameter pipe outlet on the back of the housing pointed towards the firewall area. Am I correct in thinking that this is a backup air intake path in the event the mushroom gets blocked with snow or other crud? At idle, the engine is pulling a...

Deuce van box antenna mount location?

I am looking to install a CB in my M45, which has a van box that goes over the cab. Does anyone know where the military would have mounted antennas on this truck? I do not see any existing mounts. They cannot bolt to the back of the cab because of the overhang. I have read so much on CB...

This is my obsession. Its a 2.5 ton water purification unit. Pics were taken in front of a friend's house. Luckily I don't live there, those neighbors would run me out of town! All of the equipment was stripped out when I got it. Eventually it will be my 6x6 backwoods camper as money...
