Ok all-
I had issues with my M715 and @G744 was kind enough to teach me how to test the Pertronix electronic ignition module I put in.
(It was in a box in the truck when I bought it, so I don't know if it had been used prior).
(Also, the power wire from my battery is black, so pay the color...

Yesterday driving along at 55 yesterday, she backfired twice and died.
I have checked fuel system, all good.
Today i dug into the ignition system, heres what I've done:
Checked power to the distributor, healthy 24v. Checked resistance of the coil- 5.6 ohms. No spark at the plugs.
New...

Formally inviting everyone who can make it to come in your MVs.
It's a memorial walk for all of the men and women who have been lost in the service of our country.
It happens the Sunday before memorial day at Crystal Beach, Texas.
Military Vehicles are more than welcome. Last year...

I have berated myself and beat myself up about what I'm posting. I'm not posting it for us to dog pile on me. I understand I made a mistake and fortunately no accidents happened, no one was injured and I now know how to correct my mistake.
This is an infomational post to help keep...

Looking for what apparently is my holy grail... mirrors.....
I've found roof frames, battery boxes, pioneer kits, Jerry cans etc....
If anyone knows where I can get these mirrors or the civilian equivalent, please let me know.
A previous owner added receivers for a winch to the truck and I realized hauling a floor jack everywhere is impractical, so:
Using some 2x2 stock and an old scissor jack, I now have a trail jack/bead breaker
A while back I put word out that I was looking for a M1061 trailer to haul the M37 behind the 5 ton.
@fuzzytoaster let me know he had one, so a quick trip to Dallas and I was the proud owner.
It has been sitting because I wouldn't need it until I got my M37 running, but then the M715 came...
Question:
I'm connecting all of the various vacuum/pressure lines and I am at a loss for this one.
It goes back under the cab to a T and braches off to the transfer case and the little tube on the back of the filler tube.
There is a piece of soft tubing close to it, which I know was put...
All- i have a wiring question about something that doesn't make sense:
According to the drawings and what I'm finding, I have constant power to my gauges. (Not gauge lights, just gauges).
If you follow the drawing, 24v comes from the battery on wire 82 to one post of the floor switch. It then...

Kind of at a bump in the road.
What did the original Blinker lights that were here look like and where can I find them?
On my headlights, I have 3 wires, 17, 18 and 19 with female connectors.
On the harness side, I only have 17 and 18 and they are both female connectors...

I was fortunate enought to pick up this 1967 M715 recently:
I'll use this thread to document the restoration of "Dirty Gerty"
When I bought the teuck I was told it needs a wiring harness, which was in a box on the seat. It wasn't "just" a wiring harness... it was a brand new full...
My sweet lady @IRIS_Always have been looking for something for her and to teach the oldest boy to drive on.
We looked all over but our conversations kept coming back to the CUCVs and 1967 M715 at @Csm Davis place.
We went and looked at them last Sunday and decided we wanted to pull the...

Rebuilding the ETW1 off my 54 and I'm scared to death to mess something up. Does anyone have the rebuild procedure for it? I've got an exploded view and how to adjust the governor if needed, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with the procedure.
Ideally a video would be the best...
I've been looking for the 12' skeleton from Home Depot and they're always sold out.
For reference, this is how big the honking things are (this is a pic from the net just for scale):
An old friend of mine had one and offered it to me for what they paid for it, so I jumped at the chance...
I was perusing the forum and saw the remote start for a MEP set for sale and my brain started wondering "Has anyone rigged a remote start up to their truck, and if so, how?"
A buddy on the rig is a Ford guy and asked if I knew of any of the old Air Force F350 crew cabs.
I had never heard of such a creature, but he mentioned seeing one in the best Superman movie. (OG Christopher Reeves).
To quote the old Hee-Haw song, I've searched the world over, and the only...
Does anyone have pics of an AM-2060 mounted in a vehicle? Or have you mounted one?
I'm going to me mounting one soon and would like to know how difficcult it is.
Oh, and it's going in my M37, so if anyone knows what antenna, cable and mount I'll need, please let me know.
Difficulty- I'm a...
@fuzzytoaster has these kits for sale here on the site:
I realized that, with the MRAP light kit, I had all of the light I needed up front and on the sides, but had neglected the back of the truck. This kit fit the bill.
The only issue is he doesn't have the slave plug adapter for them...
Let me preface this post by saying this: I am in no way plugging a business nor individual for pay. Everything I'm talking about is a result of effort on my part, knowledge passed and money spent. There is no quid pro quo.
The reason I say that is I'm going to mention vendors here on the site...
