Would you be able to re-post a video/audio of when it is all air-ed up and the compressor has stopped running?
(if I remember correctly, after you get that loud hiss from the bottom of the air dryer, the air compressor kicks off)
I do remember a knocking noise on my two, when the air compressor...
In case this helps, have painted a few deuces and 5 tons with RAPCO spray cans, friend discovered for black, can use the tall chrome colored can of Rust-Oleum High Performance Enamel in Flat Black, so we order the green and brown from RAPCO and go to Lowe's for the black. Have done a 5 ton in...
I was able to be around a friend's deuce before I got one and then be around his M923a2 before I got one. It really helps.
After owning two M923a2's I can look at the pics on govplanet and kinda pic out good ones, they seem good about taking pics underneath the truck too.
TX rules on CDL...
I just wanted to clarify on the stuff I mentioned before... it is Power Service Diesel Kleen, white bottle for winter, silver bottle for summer.
http://powerservice.com/psp_product/diesel-kleen-cetane-boost/
I always used Diesel Kleen in my military trucks, just made me feel better. I think the stuff you are using is good stuff too.
I use MotorKote in the crankcase of my gas engine daily driver 4Runner with 330,000 miles on it.
My last M923a2 did that going to E one day and stayed there.
I replaced the sending unit, nothing, I checked power in and out of gauge and replaced the gauge and that worked.
just my two cents... if the trucks are restored and look like they are in service or a piece of history and kept real clean, seems everyone is more accepting of them; wives, neighbors, the public. : ) Mine were just used for parades and displays.
Going from deuces to 5 tons I really noticed...
I have always got my invested funds back or made money as I moved from truck to truck so it kinda is an investment.
Spray all stuff real good at the carwash or rent a pressure washer, sand, paint with rattle cans from RAPCO, do the stencil work,
mequiers tire shine and your good. Best of luck...
oh!, thanks for the info on that event. I lived me first 45 years in the St. Louis area.
I went to that event at Jefferson Barracks about 11 or 12 years ago. It was very impressive.
That would be cool if you guys could set up your get together near that.
I may come into town to see the JB...
I don't have a CDL and just used mine for parades and titled them as REC VEH. I had to sign a form that I would not use it commercially since it is so heavy.
Technically, the back of your CO driver license states, Class R: Any motor vehicle with a GVWR of less than 26,001 lbs as a single unit...
I would keep searching, there was a thread where a fella had pics about how he adjusted the linkage coming from the engine.
My trucks did it too, so did my friend's, seemed like the whole truck shook as you came to a stop and it downshifted 2 to 1st gear.
Seems like that has to hurt the...
On the club site is some info. http://www.mvcconline.org/
I registered two M923a2's but I just used them for parades and displays so got recreational truck plates similar to a pickup truck plate out here.
I had to sign a form then that the truck would not be used for commercial purposes.
Probably no sure way to tell original color. Has it gone thru a rebuild/refurbishment/overhaul?
Might wanna blast it off at the carwash and then crawl all over it and under it at home and try to see what the bottom of the cab and cargo bed and suspension and drivetrain components look like for...
What do you do with it? that may help in the decision.
I had a 3 color camo one and a tan one.
Nice thing about the tan/sand, I live on a dirt road and truck sat in driveway and the tan doesn't show the dust that accumulates.
pin hole size or smaller size hole in a fuel line sucking in air. Wish these trucks had intank fuel pump like a deuce and pushed the fuel to the engine instead of this set up that pulls the fuel from the tank to the engine. mine was the line from frame to filter, got a new hose made at at PH...
