The switch passes 24V thru to the buzzer which is grounded. If somebody wanted to rattle your cage it would be simple to move the hot lead from the switch to the buzzer. Just a thought...

RDD, 'zactly! I got my old tach out and took a couple of pix. P, measuring across the arrow at the 'N' the decal is .250" Wide, the red band is .160" and the letters are .120". Although the pix doesn't do justice, the arrow stretches from 2600 RPM to 3500 RPM.

The pickleX looks interesting but gets pricey in a hurry! The phosphoric acid based metal conditioners are much cheaper and work well if you follow directions and rinse. Also you can buy them at most auto paint supply houses too. About $7.50/pint which dilutes 5 to 1 with water.
