    flat tow HMMWV

Even at idle the pump wouldn't spin fast enough. Technically with the transfer in neutral you are disconnecting the link between the transmission and drive line. Personally I would disconnect the shafts at the diffs and just secure them to the frame so you don't have to remove them...

What 5-ton series would be good for mudding?

You mean the time and money spent fixing the broken parts because they didn't want to do the required services after forwarding water. I joke, but I know how lazy we were when I was at cav.

What 5-ton series would be good for mudding?

I've gotten my 818 stuck a couple times. Both time I used the self recovery method of chain in the rear duals. Whatever you get just remember the maintenance needed after playing in the mud. Have to go through the front seals to make sure they are still good and no water made its way in to the...

    Where to learn about radios/HAMs

If I can pry my 897d from my buddy I might setup a gota station. I could still do it with the 857d in the truck and just pull the head, mic, and speaker out the cab but I planed on having the 2 meter radio tied into my external speakers so everyone could hear. I will have my 817nd and a wire...

    Where to learn about radios/HAMs

Look up the no nonsense study guide. The ham that made them breaks it down in a way that just makes sense. I used his general version when I upgraded. Also, arrl.org Lookup local clubs and go to a meeting.

    3rd Battery and Isolator

If you connect your radio positive to the cross over cable and ground to the chassis you'll be fine, but if you do it the opposite by putting the ground on the cross over and positive on the main positive wire going to your starter when you connect your antenna it will back feed 24v through the...

Help me Identify this rolling chassis

With as much steel that was on it, whatever they sell the frame for has to be pure profit.

Help me Identify this rolling chassis

Looks like one of the mrap trainers that were on the 939 chassis with the body removed. The steps at the pintle give it away

Front axle seals and boots stepXstep

I put about two tubes inside the spindle on mine (5 ton 818) when I did my seals. I like knowing there is grease in there for the other side of the bearings, and if the seal were to fail the grease will act as a barrier for that section.
