I haven't seen much difference in life span or dependability, but I do know that the TruckLite face plates will attach to the existing buckets once the incandescent innards are removed. With Grote, you have to buy their housings too as they moved some screw holes around.
If you go to the LED...
Bjorn,
The 3M Weatherstripping Adhesive is a good idea.
Another adhesive I've found that sticks pretty good is Sikaflex-280. It's primarily a windshield adhesive but if you've ever seen what a job removing a late model windshield is, you'll know how well it works.
I just looked at their site and...
Most wreckers that handle big trucks just pull them off and throw them in a pile.
I rooted around and picked out the one that looked like it would fit in best.
As I posted before, I have a bunch of genset manuals in .pdf form.
A lot are real big and something times out before the info is downloaded to the library.
PM me with your email address if you run up against one you can't find.
I haven't had a multifuel turbo apart in a while but my Cummins 5.9 turbos don't use gaskets in the housing to cartridge fit. Only gaskets on them are a stamped stainless steel gasket between the turbine housing and the waste-gate cover and one for the turbo to exhaust manifold connection.
I'd say take it apart and make sure no peanuts are left in there. As is they probably wouldn't do much harm; but heated up and melted, they can stick to the turbine wheels which definately will lead to balance problems.
Taking the compressor and turbine housings off is not a big deal-- just a...
My '98 Dodge w/ Cummins weighs over 7K and has single piston calipers in front.
I've hauled an M900 series five ton Rockwell drive axle in the pick-up bed with the steer axle in a utility trailer in tow. Also in on the move was a transfer case for an M900 and some odds and ends.

Kenny, here's a bulb conversion chart that might be of use.
NEIOWA, yep the two filaments tie in and run through the base and the single contact.
I'm pretty sure the idea is to cut down on bulb failure due to vibration and shock.
Your hard copper tubing may have started out life as soft but has work-hardened over the years due to vibration.
Other than obvious sharp-edged kinks (folded as opposed to dented), I replace when the internal passage is reduced to 75% or less of original size.
Even if it's just a line to actuate...
No different than connecting to the front or rear of the frame; it all goes back to the ground lead on the grounded battery. Just make sure your major components are grounded to each other; body to chassis, engine/trans to chassis, etc.
The only time grounds are a headache is when they aren't...
While spraying, the isocyanates are airborne and still "curing" That's the stuff you don't want in lungs (yours or anybody elses) while that process is taking place.
Once dried / cured, the hazard is any sanding, grinding or burning releasing the silicates and other nasties into the air...
I'd definately do a visual once every 3 to 6 months. The trouble spots are most likely gonna be at the edge of the heat discolored area around the welds.
If you don't layer on 3 or 4 heavy coats of paint and primer, you may see a rust streak indicating two sides of a crack flexing and working...
It would help to know what you're working on.
Once you determine that; the TM 9-2320-XXX-24P is the parts break-down for any given vehicle. XXX being the particular manual set; 260 for 5 tons, 361 for deuces, etc.
Look in the TM library for TM 9-2520-246-34-1. It gives you dissassemby, repair and reassembly instructions for the transmissions as well as transfer cases and PTOs.
Can you tell which two gears you're in between? Where is the shift lever in relation to neutral?
Mine was a worn lever in the...
The Chrysler sixes are pretty close to a drop-in.
The Chrysler blocks are longer but we found that on a lot of them, the stamped steel piece that bolts to the front of the engine can be reversed and that puts the motor mount tabs at the bottom just the right distance back to line up with the...
If I understand the question; your wipers active the turn signals?
If so I'd look for frayed wires touching each other due to them winding up and unwinding as the steering wheel shaft is turned; or maybe something shorting across the multi-pin connectors.
Not much room inside the top of the...
I'm not sure but I think the wiper and turn signals are on the same lever. This should be close enough to a civvy truck to be able to compare the two.
Wiper controls should be a small bundle of wires going down the column. The tan plate is the contact and cancelling piece for the turn signals...
Pretty sure that's the line into the compressor from the air cleaner. Alchohol introduced there might wash any oil from the compressor cylinder bores and rings.
As far back as the air tanks the air is still warm enough to keep any moisture from condensing out.
All the alchohol systems I've seen...
