    Happy new HEMTT owners

Capt. Marion, you've got it backwards. They're taking the HEMTT only as transportation to pick up Damon's new toy. Then they'll haul the HEMTT home in it.

I'd verify all this with a real attorney but I think; With proper titling and easy after-the-sale contact with the seller, you shouldn't have any problems verifying your legal ownership. With as meny people following Damon's postings on the HEMTT restoration project; it's not like you don't have...

    stuck 16.00r20

Once both sides of the bead are broken loose from the rim and the valve stem is pulled clear of the hole; you're left to fight the liner being laminated to the rim (I think they coat them at the factory with something that makes the liners glue themselves to the wheel). Try setting the tire...

Careful in the wording of your messages. We wouldn't want him misinterpretating your joke about him dying of old age before he found you-- especially in light of his obvious mastery of the english language. Next time you send him a message, also in very stilted english, tell him that you are...

    Lap light question

They're used together. The buzzer reminds you to look down at the dash to see what the noise is all about. Audible alarms are wired in so that they run all the time the air is below normal minimums and they are not be silenced. The light is to indicate precisely what the problem is since audible...

For pure entertainment value, the stilted english is always worth reading in itself.

Suggestions Wanted! Your Input Is Welcome!

How about a Fabricator's Section? One to carry posts for MV parts and accessories in general, so one wouldn't have to scan the entire forum to glean ideas for improvements or ideas. I'm forever cranking out some little bracket or odd-ball part for the baby HEMTT; but a lot of this stuff could be...

    Happy new HEMTT owners

Darned, there goes the market for the bridge I have for sale. I like that the sellers are related; Larry Leroy in one ad, Leroy Larry in another. Wonder when we'll see Lee Larryroy's hEMTT up for sale?

Where can I find the Military FC-Jeep based truck on this forum?

Welcome to the group. I think the FCs are around but it may take a little hunting to find the info you want. This site is continually evolving as members get into more unusual MVs. Best way is just what you did; toss out the question and people will start responding.

    M1 In Sterling Heights

Ya know, I'd even dig up and re-pour my driveway just to park it at my house for a while. I'm seeing a whole new business opportunity here; rent it a week at a time, to MVers with HOA problems. I bet neighbors would rejoice over "only a deuce or five-ton" in the yard after that.

Battery cable connector crimpers? What to buy?

Harbor Freight may not have top-of-the-line stuff but I've never had tham refuse to exchange a broken product for a new one. The swat with a hammer crimpers seem to last forever.

Best place the HEMTT could have landed. Hope you put many happy miles on it.

Jerry Can Strap: What is NSN on old one?

I'm running 1 1/4" wide 1/4" spacers under my can brackets. They keep the brackets from chaffing the straps and allow the straps to move enough to adjust for any shift. Spacers also give room for any collected water to get enough air flow to evaporate out.

Will 5 ton trans bolt to 5.9 cummins?

Depends on what bolt pattern a five-ton trans is. Find a wrecking yard dealing in larger trucks and semis. Most all UPS, FedEx trucks, armored cars have 5.9 Cummins' in them and those engine blocks have SAE bolt patterns for sure. Any of those places should have the #3-#2 SAE adapters since...

Atomic Cannon, M37, and some UMV's...

Good call on the MMMBBQ. I first thought the larger HFSBBQ until I saw that it had singles, not duals? Second pic could be. Third is HMMWV, PLS and shelter. Atomic cannon including front and rear power units. Gasser deuce. Ambulances are M43s if memory serves me. 50's era Cad.

    Is Steelsoldiers a club?

Think of this as a group of like-minded enthusiasts, eagerly sharing tips and encouragement with fellow members for the restoration and preservation of this portion of our proud military heritage... or AA for military vehicle lovers. The only thing close to a club is the one our wives or...

    CARC spray cans?

Yep. Imron and any of the other industrial coatings are epoxies and have the same warnings and hazards. I think CARC stands out with it's silicas as being a problem even after it's cured. If you're not in a tactical situation and need CARC's properties and protection then there are a lot of...

    CARC spray cans?

The whole idea of CARC is to create a continuous coating for a military vehicle that's impenetratable and won't let chemical agents soak into it's surface even though it's a flat finish. The reason behind CARC primer isn't to make the CARC stick better, it's because the primer has he same...

    Removing CARC

If it's real CARC be very careful. The dust is loaded with all kinds of silica things that lead to respiratory problems and cancer(s). Burning releases the particles too. The MSDS's are in the tech library but here's one to be sure. It's best to wire brush and power wash the surfaces but if you...
