Beam me up Scottie, its getting really STRANGE down here!!
As a side note, it might be a piece from the TARDIS ... but only the Dr. would know for sure.
Glad to hear that "she lives."
Two suggestions:
1. Be sure the drain plugs are installed before deep water operations.
2. Always carry fishing tackle so you have something to do while waiting for a tow.

Most of your questions can be answered in the various manuals available in the Reference section. Check page 4:
Steel Soldiers :: Military Vehicles Supersite
and browse the TM 11-5820-401-# series. They all pertain to the VRC-12 family radios and their installation.
The attached drawing will...
Guys!
I uploaded most of those manuals to references several years ago. The Org.Maint. manual is TM 11-5820-401-20-2 for vehicles using the intercom (eg.: tanks, personnel carriers) ###-20-1 is vehicles without intercom (wheeled vehicles)...
Not a lot of them around since the military do not use as much hf gear as tactical vhf so prices tend to be higher.
I have a PRC-104 and have just completed assembling the components for a GRC-213A.
Mike Murphy currently has both the 104 and 104a available - and not cheap. But good gear. He...
Nice looking setup and kudos to the interior decorator. :)
A good reference for anyone thinking about heating and ac for a small shelter is:
MIL-HDBK-116, Environmental Control of Small Shelters. It covers selecting a unit, pros and cons, installation options, etc. Lots of charts and graphs...
Mike Murphy has them but wants $189 apiece. He has the small CY-7541 for $19, but you have to come up with some sort of battery array for it.
Fair Radio has the CY-7541 for $22.00 but not the larger battery box.
These look like the technical orders that you are seeking. Do some googles, etc. and hopefully you'll find some useful stuff:
31R2-2TRC176-1 AN/TRC-176 OPERATORS MNL -- RADIO SET, TY...
Congratulations on completing the first step and getting your technician license. Now with the HT you can hit all the repeaters in your area and log some VHF experience. A little more study and you can get your General Class and expand your horizons to HF as well.
Like any hobby, half the fun...
Good Grief!!
What a project .. kind of like the new bike at Christmas ... "some assembly required."

At least you have the dog in the act, for adult supervision I presume! You know the "dog motto" when it comes to most things ... "If you can't eat it, or F*** it, P*** on it!" Of course...
Perhaps we should consider adding a short list of handy / popular invectives and curse words (that apply to military vehicles) to the TMs, LOs, etc. that are available for download? :)

Check the CUCV forum for a list of the manuals for the CUCVs. They are all available for download...
From your description it sounds like you'll be doing some sanding, and priming with rustoleum or some such. Look through some of the threads in the painting section of the forum. There are several manuals in the resource section on painting and the camouflage patterns. Such as TB 43-0242 which...
There is one currently listed on ebay: 290286717566
This link will take you to a data sheet for the AN/GRC-6 which shows the RT-70 as part of the set: http://jptronics.org/radios/Military/JANAP161/an.gcgrt/an.grc-6.pdf
I'm sure that is one of the last things you need to deal with before a pcs! Hope the damage to the M1009 isn't as bad as you think. They may rust but they do take a knock. :)
On the bright side no one ways injured - and the fool didn't run off the road and in to the house!
Perhaps you might...
Check our friends at LOGSA to download this manual (I'll also upload it to our Resource section)

A number of factors come in to play - WHO is painting the truck? WHERE are they doing it? WHAT resources do they have available?
Based on my experience with different units you will get pattern variations. If SGT X tells PVT Y to "goto the motor pool and paint the truck" with no further...
Apparently CR 666 was renumbered or was entered in error at some point? I have seen it on several maps and some on-line maps, but I checked the NJ DOT highway database. They no longer list a CR 666 and CR 664 is the one that eventually leads to the NJARNG facility.
See page 3 of the Straight...
