Thanks chicklin! Guys, hooper is a nice fella looking to dream about what COULD be done to his truck, not what IS going to be done. If he offends you, don't read his posts. If you have suggestions, make them and move on. I say this because I just got thrown in with the idiot pack, and called...
Oh, yes you can convert an A3 to multifuel. You buy an A2 and put the dataplate from an A3 on it. Sort of like what they did to make the A3!
Really though, both trucks are awesome. If it was driving ease, I'd pick the A3 in a heartbeat. The alternative is to put steering assist on the...
Mine was pretty fast too. I'm actually thinking they may have a system that now tracks that, and have to worry about it. Also, fewer EUC's might be a factor. But who knows, it might just be they got a new boss who is one of our SS members. If so, thanks boss!
Commander,
You're looking for a miracle if you want a truck to drive back and forth to Cali from Indiana. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it will be fairly expensive in parts alone, not to mention if downtime is an issue. You CAN fix up a deuce to be gosh darn (avoiding the ****)...
Great work! Hopefully everything will go perfectly for you. I had about a three week wait for my first EUC, so they say up to 90 days, but it might go faster. Welcome to the team!
That's interesting- think it could be both, being "swapped" from one unit to another? The interesting part is the mileage on the truck was about 7K on the speedo, and it seems to have about that much wear on everything.
Oh amazing carnac, can you answer this riddle?

Does your crystal ball also tell you the serial numbers that were used to rebuild the A3? Or where I might find...
There is a small noise coming from the top of my engine - ldt 465. If it was a gas engine I'd swear it was a exhaust leak. not apparent at start up, picks up a little volume when warm, and on a hot restart slightly louder without oil pressure.
I searched the TM's, but didn't find anything...
Well, I just finished installing a smitty built 8k winch on my jeep. For 299$ from summit racing, it's the cat's meow. Now, summit shows it as being a 12V or 24V winch, but I'm trying to confirm that. In any case, that's about as cheap as I'm seen a good quality winch. in any case, good luck!
Firefire has a very good point though. It's pretty safe flaming someone and being rude online since you don't risk getting punched in the nose for it. I'd have to agree being courteous is starting to be more rare. I can be just as corrective being courteous as I can being rude.
Examples-...
hooper, you crack me up! The idea is pretty cool, but I think you can get 250 hp out of the 3116, and find yourself an RV that burned and get the five or six speed allison out of it. You'd need the computer too, but I bet you could get it to work better than what you got in mind so far, and...
A wise cop once told me, while he was writing the ticket I thought I didn't deserve, that you can't get in a car and drive it without breaking some law in regards to driving. While I thought he was wrong about the ticket, he was probably right about the laws.
He included himself in that...
One other thing, some of my fittings had been over tightened, so the plastic line was already a little too compressed to be reused. You might want to expect to have to replace some of that plastic line.
Hey cgtboy1988,
You must have missed the 6 or so that were up at fort lewis, wa last week. There have been a few at French Camp as well. The most important help I can give you is to look every week, I check everyday. Finding one near cali is possible, but keep in mind you may have to go to...
That's a pretty good deal! I voted against changing mine to atf, when I heard from boyce equipment that half of the 15 a3's he has sold and changed the oil out for atf lost third gear. I like third gear. I think I'm going to stick with oil on this one!
It does make me wonder if there is some...
Mike929,
So you're thinking trim the center out all the way to the bolt area, and then pulling the studs out and mounting the studs on the new center, and bolting it all together from there?
Gimpy, no problem on the call back, I got most of it figured out. It only hurts now when I breathe.
Oh, that would have been nice, to have a log splitter, or a hydraulic press, or a cherry picker. No, I had a crowbar. A nice crowbar, but a crowbar none the less.
Now, on to that recentering thing. Anyone changed up the FMTV rims to make them work on the deuce?
