Harold, you're a genius! Wanna know why?
Your solid hitch thing is perfect! But rather than use the hitch pin as the tightener, drill a 1/2" hold behind the hitch pin hold and then thread that. I'd think from the side is easiest to lock down the receiver. You could go from the bottom too...
I'll add a couple of things. Your box is wired for 24v and 110. Mine had a converter in the box, which it looks like yours does too. If you put 110 energy saving bulbs in the ceiling, it barely touches the battery. I have a 40,000 btu diesel heater in mine, it will keep your toes toasty, and...
Hey WScougarx?
On the shim thing, there are a few methods of securing the hitch in the receiver, the best one I've seen is to have a threaded insert in the hitch, and actually tighten it to the receiver. Bike racks often have these, but I bet we could fab up on with some grade 8 bolts and...
Yep, I missed one. Patriot, OMG yes better top speed. I top out at 52. It piss**es people off. 395's get you 4 or 5 mph better, AND reduces strain on the engine. The TM's state to NOT run the rig at full revs for extended times. Ok, now, is that it?
Hi Kids,
Not being an expert or anything, I'd have to say take everything I say with a grain of salt. I only have my experience with the A3 tires to go with. But here you go.
10-11 in wheel is the width of the rim. 395's do fit, but I'm having TONS of fun doing it. The m35A3 wheels are 11"...
Hey all! I've got a strange one for you.
When driving my A3 on flat or mostly flat lands, nothing leaks. If I throw a hill in there, I get seepage from somewhere near the front of the oil pan. Can't tell if it's the pan or not, could be the front bearing seal, BUT I'd think that would leak...
Hey Little Red?
Take Tony up on his offer. He can fix a broken space shuttle with a tin can and a bit of bubble gum. Then, plan on driving it out. Don't let a break down bother you, I bought two trucks and both of then broke down going from SLC to Seattle near Boise. They both made it to...
ApopkaFL,
Hmmm. Looks good, and I like it. I was trying to say you can't get TWO of them on the a3, but the other point on the a3 rims I had was they show a 4000 lb rating, which is differing from the heavier rating of the tire. And of course I haven't had any luck using bead lockers, which...
Those are some sexy tires! Too bad I have 395/80/20's sitting here. I tell you, if I ever get heat vision like superman, I'm making some new rims!
The upside is I just finished removing an axle from the 109, and drove it around the yard a bit. Got to finish the frame cuts, but holy cow that...
Hey Juspar!
Ok, I own a m109a3 and a m35a3. Your tire question is pretty simple to answer.
You are going to be changing the rims if you want to put bigger tires on. The A3 wheels are wider than just about anything (11 inches) so the majority of the tires aren't going to like that without a...
Oh, one more bit of bad news. I probably won't be able to attend, I've got family coming in from out of town. They may want to go, but I'm not counting on it, since they have their heart set on the puyallup fair for the day.
Scott- lost your number when I replaced my phone. The aluminum is...
rolling18,
I've done a clutch. Things to remember. The sprague shaft need to be retracted for transmission removal and installation. The flywheel bolt holes are NOT symmetrical, it will fit only one way. You should have a clutch alignment tool or putting the transmission back sucks. If you...
Hey GLcaines,
I don't disagree with you, but I do wish the manual reflected it! The downloads from Jatonka didn't have it. It'd be nice to find a set that is truly up to date.
All in all, it's a very good mod. My compressor though leaks at that T, so it's going to have to come out and get...
Glad it's fixed! I found out that they modified my A3, so where the compressor feeds to the main air line now had a T with a safety valve on one side instead of the "factory" elbow. All the other air lines seem relatively the same, but it makes for fun troubleshooting when your parts don't match!
My a3 came with a phram ph49a filter attached, but I just put the cat filter on. Here's the list I have for all the filters.
Oil- 1R1807
Fuel- 7E9763
Trans spin on (external)- 1R0713
Air- P520925
Generally speaking, my experience is keeping the filter changed on a regular basis is the best...
