The paint is running thin on the front of my M1008 and yellow paint is showing through? Anyone have an idea of why the nose was painted yellow at one time? It's military life was as a communications truck, four antenna mounts and power run to the bed and I purchased it off Little Rock air...
I have one just like it, a real work horse, unfortunately with mine I use it an hour and work on it for three! But it still does more in an hour than I can do without it in a day! Mine does have only one seat that folds forward and backwards.
I have a 932 but when I drove it home I was still on uncle sam's diesel, I am picking up a couple of hard tops for my 939 series trucks this weekend I may have a chance to recheck the MPG!
I drove the distance from Hooks to my cabin about 186 miles in one shot, I used a paint stir stick for a measure. I am amazed how well it drives, I hope my 932 does as well, i have new shoes for it!
Picked up my "new" 923A1 at Hooks, TX, pulled PMs and finally got it out of low range and started home. The truck just came out of rebuild with only 36 hours on it. On the trip home I drove about 55 mph, when I checked the mileage I came up with 11.2 miles per gallon! Is this reasonable? I...
I was down at Jeff's place a couple of months ago for some parts for my 932, most of his big stuff went to the crusher, I need to give him a call on a top, I am from North Mississippi, but even from my parents house it is another 5 hours drive to his.

I appreciate the info. Did you end up with a truck with a hard top? I now have two 900 series one with a ragged soft top and one with no top at all! Any sources local for a hard top?
Have you got any photos of the damage, I want to carry any spare parts I may need with me, I have someone who may be able to do an inspections since I don't plan on picking it up until the 21st. I don't want to burn up more than one day of vacation if possible, wife already doesn't like the...
With brake lights and assorted solenoids surly with four fully charged batteries I can drive a pretty good distance with the little draw they would have, and you bet I am going to replace the belts, this is just a what if. I am trying to not have to take my 932 down there to tow bar it home!
I have a M923A1 to pick up at Hooks, the generator belts are laying on the cab floor, maybe just laying there or the generator may be locked up? If I put in four new batteries can I make the 200 mile trip home in daylight? How much does the truck depend on the batteries after it is started, I...
Well dropping the rear drive shaft is no problem, a forestry forklift took care of the shaft, he has both ends of the shaft but that is it! I am getting the truck for $1300 so some imperfections are allowed! I plan on staying off the interstate as well 55 -60 will work just fine!
