i just barely got the truck back on Tuesday night.... sliced open my sidewall on the front driver tire and had to wait to go back and get it... been working this week, so no time... i'll get some tomorrow afternoon as its pouring rain right now
well, after some inspection today, i looks like a royal pain in the butt, but I have a reasonable quote for atleast the labor to get both sides of my boogered up cowl fixed... paint's another story... guess I need to park the truck for a few months until I get some funds and just go to town on...
damn these threads!
I retract my statements I make about starting over with my truck.... everything I see these threads, I get a tingly feeling... crap, I need to hurry up and find my gun ring so I can start repainting this truck and fixing my oopsies...
Someone hug me :)
Oh, truck...
that's the thing... I have no interest or desire right now to pour a lot of time and money into this or any big truck... I feel like I could start fresh, with a same-condition truck fresh from auction and be where I was before this mishap  I'm not ready to dump a few grand into this...
Re: Fix it
haha... well I came up to go wheeling with another member here and replace the window the next day... on the way back to the house, my truck has a disagreement with a tree... and got slapped around
I did post that my getting frustrated a few weeks ago caused me to need a...
another thought that I came up with.... can that cowl panel be cut and replaced? I havent looked all that close in the daylight, but I will this evening... looks like about 8 rivets on each side and a weld on each side in the back
more of a severe lack of "toy" money right now, and the money to really do the truck right is a long way out.... I dont even know if it can be fixed to be back to factory-looking.. i'll get the pics tomorrow... its amazing what one little pressure point on those mirrors can do.... probably...
RE: M292A2
all non-turbo trucks have that muffler as far as I'm aware... the turbos make a good "muffler" as it is, so that's my guess as to why the different trucks have the different systems
Yeah, I knew it... I fuggin knew it... Karma came back to haunt me this weekend, even after helping someone get their Bronco out of a ravine... clipped the top of the exhaust stack on a tree limb, which in turn yanked the exhaust back, through the mirror, and ripped the cab up where the mirror...
Well, I thought I had a major issue with leaking axle seal up front... basically, I'm not getting residue on the wheel from leakage during driving, or parking... the only time i've noticed a leak of fluid on the ground is when I have the wheels turned to the left (right side is leaking) and...
I've 240/243's mounted on the ring before, so I'm sure there is... where to find it, i'll let someone else answer that for me, because I have no idea.
tell dave to call me today
Thanks guys. I was just curious how much "bite" and absorption the layers had. On my passenger door, the CARC is peeling like a sticker in 2 spots, and the paint underneath looked pretty clean to me.
Still cant find any registration numbers underneath all this paint tho.. the depot boys...
I'm thinking about my options here for "restoring" my truck.... The CARC on it now is barely 7 years old, but a few places its peeling and the original undercoat of tan is coming through... The more I look and think about this, the more I want to turn my truck back to the desert tan camo...
looks to be in pretty good shape, congrats!
but i gotta ask... that pic of the hood... did Spiderman come help you to load up or what? what the heck is all that coming off the bumper?
