    Steering, Tracking, Drift

These trucks are 30+ years old. Replace everything, and I mean everything. New springs, spring bushings, upper/lower king pins, all your steering connections, new steering box, new steering shaft (I prefer the borgenson steering shaft, it uses U-joints at both ends instead of a rag joint)...

    M813 Batteries / Charging

Talking with Steve, he said it is part number 7197N. Checked that part number and it is a 24 volt alternator. local part store sells them, they look just like a civilian alternator.

    M813 Batteries / Charging

I see he has alternator belts in the classified's, but I don't see an actual alternator?

Got the new fuel shut off solenoid on and the new emergency shut off valve installed! Hopefully my fuel leak is gone!

    M813 Batteries / Charging

With truck off I am getting 25 volts at the batteries, and 25 volts at the starter. But I am assuming since I am not getting the 28 volts while truck is running that its not putting enough charge in them to start the truck. The starter just clicks.

    M813 Batteries / Charging

Ok, I have checked TM's, and I am stumped on this one. Starter clicks when I try and start. If I jump it with the cucv, it fires right up. I let truck run for an hour to charge batteries. While truck is running I checked voltage at batteries. It was at 25 volts, according to TM voltage is...

    53 michelin xzl tires

Cool thanks. Someone not far from me has a bunch of the 2 piece hemtt rims for a decent price. So I will use those on all 6.

    53 michelin xzl tires

I did a search and didn't get much information. I would like to run the 53 michelin xzl tires. But I am not sure what rims to use. Do I use the 3 piece hemtt rims or the 2 piece hemtt rims?

    Cross Country in an M820

Also should install a 12 volt charger, that way you can charge your phone, laptop, flash light, etc. There are a lot of MV's owners that should be close to your route, so if you do brake down just send a message on here and someone should be able to help you or point you in the right direction...

    New owner!

Now I am having a battery issue. Batteries won't hold a charge, so now have to figure that out. Still waiting for the fuel shut off and emergency shut off valve to arrive. Hopefully that will take care of the leaking fuel. I know the fuel shut off solenoid is bad because if I jump the 2...

    Tranny Cooler Questions

Never bypass the radiator transmission cooler. Water cools 1000 times better than air. If you heat a piece of steel up to red hot how does one cool it? By waving it in the air? NO! They dip it in water! Adding an auxiliary cooler in conjunction with the radiator cooler does help! Any...

Need advice on M1009 upper ball joint sleeve

I go by feel rather than torque. Just replaced all the ball joints on the blazer. It's more trial and error, I install the sleeve with only one or two threads showing on the bottom. Then install knuckle, start by tightening the upper ball joint till its tight with a half inch drive socket...

    New owner!

Ok, I see bubbles coming from out of the emergency shut off rod, so hopefully that is the leak. Going to town, so should see if that is the source. I am assuming there is some type of O-ring in there.
