I pulled up some photos of the M38(A1) and can readily see now they are not M151. I'm going to put them in the Parts Classifieds when I figure out exactly what they fit. I understand there are some differences between the the M38 and M38A1.
Put a little grease or cutting wax on the drill bit and tap to help keep the chips in check. If you do a search, you'll find some photos of the correct hole location.

I have done the same thing to keep an eye on fuel system pressures. I used an 1.5" back mount gauge mounted to a tee. I removed the bleeder screw and placed it on top of the tee to retain the bleeding feature. The gauge has a 0-100 psi scale.
