DAP,
Are your brakes boosted?
Disk need significantly more pressure to stop the same which is one reason that disk/drum combinations need proportion valves.
The transmission is standard shifting, but there are air valves on the first/reverse shift rail that direct air to the cylinder on the transfer that selects forward or reverse sprag. The air system modification is to cut-off the air to the selector valves which puts the front drive in neutral...
Guys,
The 800's and the M39 series have air shift sprag selection. No air shift for front axle drive UNLESS the air system modification has be done that allows neutral or front drive.
The same only different from the 2-1/2 air shift.

Agreed, check the compressor outlet, (charge compressor not system compressor) if not oily then the truck just needs running. Best I recall, the recommended run in for wet stacking was 100 miles under load.
If you have oil in the compressor line, the turbo seals are gone and a runaway is...
Zout, no question, the M43 has to be ready to roll. Little Truck (Mate of Squirt-Truck) can not be left to carry the 3/4 ton banner alone. She gets scared being alone around all them big trucks. She does not appreciate "Long Live Big Iron" like some of us.........
Tigger... you have a Jeep...
But doesn't the Continental manual refer to the -1 engine? The -1A engine was (is?) produced with single hole nozzles as late as 1990. The C and D engines I think had the cracking issues due to excess fuel impingement on the top of the piston.
Look at this piston, does it look like it has a...
