Yea the packards. None of the lights or gauges work anyway. So we will be replacing everything eletrical. I'd like to swap over so i won't have to keep other lights, switchs etc.. in the shed. Id even like to swith to a 60AMP alternator. We will be installing a NATO style slave connection like...
Thanks, Guys. As far as the leak goes i've ordered 4 new wheel cylinders. And i already have a master cylinder rebuild kit. We are going to flush everything out and repace the fluid anyway. When we bled them, rust, water and sludge came out of the bleeders. So i can't take any chances. I wanted...
We started working on the brakes this weekend. And had them working pretty well for about 2 miles. Then the right front wheel cylinder started leaking. It appears to have DOT 3 Fluid in it. Is anybody using DOT 5? Any problems?
This set of 9.00 tires has just over 8K on them. And they are in bad need of replacement. I've rotated them twice mixing the front in with the rears. Because the fronts wear really fast. I used to have a cupping issue a few years back. But the new shocks solved that problem.
Take a look at the throttle where it attaches to the IP. .If it has come loose then the engine oversped and threw a rod. I bought one this way once. It became a parts genset. I frend of mine tells me they were tought to do this if they had to aband them to keep the enemy for using them.
I have a MEP-003 10KW. That during hurricane IKE ran everything. Including the 3TON central A/C. With plenty of power to spare. It never got above 65% on the load guage. I had no power problems at all. The only difference between it and HL&P was listening to it running outside and refueling it...
If it's only the connections for the guages you need for now. Get a wire spider from saturn surplus. They are cheep. It connects the guages to the wiring harness. When you install it use silicone lube on the rubber and it will come apart easily the next time. Even if it's years later.
Isn't the tac adaptor for engines with mechinical tachs? Like the M35's? I believe it reads RPM's from the alternator on a CUCV. And i should read them just fom plugging in at the connector on the dash. I did adjust the fast idle speed this way when i got it about a year ago.
I took mike's advice and installed a glow plug relay. I mounted it right next to the batteries. And it works great! Every CUCV i get in the future will get this mod.
We installed the airtex pump yesterday and it worked great. It finally ran smooth enough for him to take his first test drive. I got a video on my cell phone. I'll try to up load it.
I looks like a great replacement. Will it still work if it gets dunked in water? I have a flooding problem in my area and my M35 has done alot of swimming.
You can drill holes in the air clearer can. It's starving for air. It will make a noticable difference. But not much. It also makes that engine roar much louder. You can also install a 2 1/2 inch dual exaust. That made another noticable difference on my 1028. And last but not least you can turn...
I bought one from memphis. I've got one flex hose that does work. But not very well. It tries to kink by the generator when it makes the bend up to get to the rad outlet. I'll get that number tonight if it's not raining. But the one i got from momphis looks original and worked much better.
We started taking it apart so sandblasting would be easier. He spent most of sunday changing the oil, greasing the fittings and changing the sparkplugs. He is learing alot and it's going pretty well. I've got the fuel filter assembly here at work and am making a new blind nut for the bottom. We...
