Yes, it will work for your lighting application. I just re-read your post and I must have had heater switch on the brain. The switch is probably rated at 20 Amps. Your 4811's draw 4 Amps a piece on high beam, and 2 Amps a piece on low beam. 110W/28V=3.92A, 55W/28V=1.96A. I see no reason to use a...
The switch is a Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT). The "D" connection is not needed/used in this switch configuration. The "D" connection would be used for a Double Pole, Single Throw (DPDT), which would be used to control 2 separate circuits. The SPDT switch is the correct switch for your heater...
You can certainly do as you wish, however it was an 8th Trans identification, so the yellow nose wouldn't have been on just any truck. Do it, go Army, and put the 8th Transportation Group markings and bumper numbers on your truck.
That's a whole other can of worms you're opening. There are lots of threads on WMO preparation and usage, seach and you'll find plenty of reading. I enjoy your enthusiasm, I wish it was contagious. I was 14 once, albeit awhile ago I still remember the dreams. I agree with the other forum...

Get a few more opinions from people not trying to sell you something, then make up your mind. I can't understand replacing the whole injector, when the gaskets may be bad.
I have that same flasher in my Dodge Dually...I couldn't hear the flasher over the Cummins. A NAPA counterman recommended it. The Boss-Lady said now you won't look like an idiot...boy do I have her fooled.
This has come up several times on this Forum. I will clean the Budd nuts and lugs with a wire brush, and use anti-sieze on the threads. If you do a good pre-trip, you should notice anything coming loose. I painted a line across the nut and lug bolt to bring any loosening to my attention.
I read somewhere today there was not a lot of M1000's manufactured, I don't recall what the number was but it surprised me it wasn't more. Remember, we are very photo challenged here and we want pics! I was day-dreaming about a 1070 this morning, but the dream fell apart when I found out it was...
I love my two A2's. They have motors/systems that are very straight forward and easy to work on, no electronics or exotic stuff to muck up the mess. If it breaks down, sometimes a little jerry rigging will get you home. I may bob one at a later date.
