I don't think a show of force with the trucks would be to our benefit. I think you are correct in that would just feed their argument about the big scary trucks. At first thought the parade photo idea sounds good but they may turn that around on us saying the new law still permits this. I...
Man that filter looks nasty. This might seem like a stupid question on a NA truck but do you have much smoke when pulling the hill ?. You might want to install a pyrometer and see if you can turn the fuel up and maybe get a little more power.
Great project. Looks like someone in the rebuild shop dropped in the wrong piston/liner assembly in the number 3 hole. One nice thing is there are plenty of parts available for these, although sometimes a little pricey.
Good luck and remember we are all counting on you
I don't feel so bad now. Was changing fuel filters on the deuce today and went to tighten the alternator and snap. Broke the ear on the alternator.
Have you pulled the secondary and final fuel filters. They will help to tell part of the story by how much crud is in them. Hopefully they are all installed correctly and would have trapped most of the crud and not let it pass to the ip.

I could also see this helping if someone is thinking about moving to another area. Are the registration requirements in your proposed new HQ MV friendly or a nightmare.2cents
Just my 2 cents but if you have a machine shop local you might take the pump mount / bracket, without the pump, and have them glass bead it. That would clean away the rust and old paint. The pump it's self I would try carb cleaner and a nylon cleaning brush. I would just replace the sending...
