If you are twisting the chassis a little, does not take much, the bed will shift on the frame rails. That is usually a one time pop for each change of direction. That is what ratat98's truck does and all five of my current deuces do that as well. Jay's M35A3 did it too when we drove it out into...
I drive one of mine everyday, sometimes both of them and on good days, I drive somebody else's too! Anyway, welcome to the site. I would love to snag a set of those wheels! As for the Dodge, I have a 91 manual cummins srw 350 in the middle of a paint job. Maybe one day, about ten years from now...
4.10 will make a huge difference. You know that the transfer case and park brake levers mount to a bracket cast into the transmission case? That is not an impossible deal to work around, but it does take a little fabrication. You are going to lose the large bolt pattern wheels that makes a lot...
You obviously have not driven a 715 very far. Jump over to the M715zone and see what they recommend. That is where the die hard 715 guys hang out. I spent a lot of time and money on these trucks, 45 is leaning on them pretty hard. We had trouble with transfer cases getting hot, we ran Amzoil in...
I pulled those off of my cell phone. With over 2500 images stored, it is hard to pick out the correct ones and my computer hard drive is too full to transfer. The leaves gone was after the trip to the post office and I was trying to catch the steam rolling off the hood. I FAILED! The rpm photo...
The skies turned dark, the thunder boomed, I had bills to pay, so I fired up the deuce. Pretty gloomy looking, but we are happy for the rain! Very, very happy! Glen
We had a 6-71 in a 35 ton Link Belt Crane chassis. It would run on the governor all day long, uphill.... Really could have used a taller gear ratio. Power was not a problem at all.
This Kansas guy would like to welcome you to the madness. Who needs a pickup when you have a deuce? I have three nice pickups, but drive my deuce all the time. My son rotates the pickups. I think he waits until they are all out of fuel before he drives his car. 8)
A bobbed deuce, I think one would be really handy. I drive a deuce daily. I think I have missed five days since I picked up my first one in February. A day without makes me feel like I am missing part of life. There are some more in my area, but those guys must have them for lawn art. 8)
I never thought the M715 had much power. They had a rod as long as a six foot man's forearm and as big as his thumb. Nothing with a 5.87 gear and no over drive has much speed. They had a Dana 60 front and a Dana 70 rear, while they were strong, the axles were oddly splined and not nearly as...
M715s are too cool! They have their fair share of drawbacks, but they are a favorite of mine. A member did a 4BT conversion on one and it was super nice. Welcome from Kansas. Glen
Welcome from Kansas! You should have no problem finding a nice deuce in Texas, they have a few great sources down that way. They are kind of hard to find in my area. Glen
