Afraid you are going to bruise the sidewalls? I have not fought the A3 spare, but have unfortunately had plenty of practice with the A2 spare. It seems like if I have a flat, t is going to be in the steering axle. I cannot get lucky enough to just remove one half of a dual and get it fixed or...
On the tailgate with it down, rolling through the Ozarks in S Missouri. The dips would cause my shoes to touch down on the pavement and I loved every second of it. Same for those pasture rides in the bed of the pickup, bailing out to chase down calves. Life was much simpler then and I was...
The majority of the members here have probably never seen a M810. Before we bought that one, I am not sure I had ever seen one before either. The only way I found it was that I knew it was an 809 series truck. It had a M820A2 data plate, which I knew was wrong and it was listed as a M35A3, which...
I'll bet a five ton with that big Cummins engine and a winch hanging over the front axle would get some serious torque steering from a locker. I often wondered about a locked up five ton, that would be a lot of pull. 6x6 trucks are hard on tires anyway, I am betting a set of lockers could really...
I would have to try to get it running, there is no doubt about it. I would just have to do it, regardless of the end plans, parts, whatever, I have to try... it is a sickness I am telling you, I just have to try....
Loosen the nuts, then flip the latch, then kick the tire to get the nuts aligned up with the holes. Let the tire and wheel free fall. No sense eating a tire iron or breaking an arm.
That is awesome! I always wanted to fly in one and maybe when I retire, that will be my retirement gift to myself. I also have a burning desire to go through the mountains with the UPRR's 3985. UP: Challenger No. 3985 Did you get a photo of the deuce on the tarmac with the B-17? 8) Glen
My old 72 started great all winter on number one diesel and Power Service. I never had to use the manifold heater or ether. When Karl and I originally fired it up at Ellsworth, we gave it a very small shot of ether. It was -12 the night before and a whopping 6 when we started it the first time...
The fall leaves are yellow and the plum thickets, poison ivy and sumac are showing their reds. I stopped by the river on the way home and snagged a couple of photos. I thought maybe some of you guys with real colors could do the same. I should have been driving the sand deuce, it would have...
Make sure the return spring on the park brake linkage is not broken. There should a spring there and it is not the best design. My 72 would do it once in a while. The spring was broken on it. Glen
In those conditions, it sure feels good when you find fuel. A guy can start feeling a little vulnerable when fuel gets short and everything is shut down. Glad you are safe! Glen
Maybe next time you hang the feeder, you should move it a little closer to the trunk.... that way it will have less leverage to topple the tree with and same for the staging birds.
Seriously though, I am glad nobody was injured. I have a friend who got caught by a falling cottonwood. He was...
