Preamble to yet another WC brought back to life

Excuse me Superman, you should be able to pick that puppy up with one hand and carry it back in. Wish I could be there to help but I know the WC will be finished and back at PB's before the 27th.

    WC-51 Restoration or Bust!!

Well, I only got the handbrake assembly installed and adjusted today. One of our sheep had twins and orphaned one of them so I have to feed it 6 times a day. It is very tiring and my nipples hurt!!!!

Preamble to yet another WC brought back to life

Well Commander, your progress is amazing but expected based on your past projects. All I got done today was to install and adjust the handbrake assembly on my WC. That open cab box is basically the same as mine with a few style changes. You are so right about moving these beasts around by...

Warp Speed ahead... Looks great Zout. Are you saying the open cab box is welded on the frame? My cab box is held on the frame mounts with 4 bolts, however the seat box is indeed welded to the cab floor and that is where I have some serious rust. Going to blast it and come up with a...

    WC-51 Restoration or Bust!!

Today was engine install day. I put the chassis on Dollies for maneuverability and rearranged the shop to allow space to work on the cab and cargo bed next. The gentleman in the photo is my friend Bill who is 87 years old and has been restoring vehicles for over 50 years. He is a...

    WC-51 Restoration or Bust!!

Today I finished upholstering the seat bottoms for my WC. I was able to get seat pans but the springs were not available. Instead I used high density seat foam mounted on plywood bases that have T-Bolts inserted into the boards to accept 5/16" cap screws. I had the foam cut 1/2" wider than...

    WC-51 Restoration or Bust!!

Upon removal of the steering wheel I noticed the top of the steering shaft and nut were rusted away. I was able to find a NOS shaft and worm assembly back east and installed it Saturday. Took a little trial and error to adjust the backlash (notice the copy of the TM page Doghead) but got is...
