Franz, Try Memphis equipment. I got a manual from them that came with a parts explosion for the gas engine. I was just in Munich in april it would have been nice to meet you and see your truck.
I'm with kenny. Drain about a gallon off the tanks. Then change the fuel filters. Don't forget to put fresh fuel in the filters. Since you got it from a city, does it have red diesel in it? A lot of GOV agencys in Texas use non tax fuel. If so you'll want to burn it before you drive it on the...
I'm with ya ryan. The only time i got to pass someone was a national guard unit. I keep mine at 45mph and get in no hurry while driving it. Fuel cost too much and i've had a brake failure. So i keep it slow.
I think keeping the stock tranny then yank the air intake off and replace it with a round K&N strait on the turbo. Then crank the fuel rate untill it's at 1400 deg at WOT. That should give you enough power to overcome the new shoes. I canked my fuel rate 5 years ago and haven't had any...
If you look at the #1 exaust port there is a 1/8 pipe plug facing the rad. I removed that plug and put it there. Since the plug has been there 40 years and seen a cycle or two of hot and cold you might not be able to get it out. Otherwise i would put it just before the turbo. If mounted there...
BFR, I bought a NOS rear harness from Front line military vehicles for $50.
NSN# 2590-00-180-5510. It sure cured a lot of problems for me. And only took 45min to install. They are at www.flmv.net
Hope this helps,
Hey guys thanks alot! My m52's wiring is a mess! The prevous owner used a pocket knife and a lot of beer or bad judgment on the wiring. I'm planning to replace the front harness alltogether. I just did it on my M35 and having the drawing made it go rather quick.
I've got a spare fan that i was thinking of taking to work and cutting half of the blades off. Then rebalenceing it in the balence machine. I don't think it would work too well here in the summer when hauling loads. But for winter time hwy travel it might save a little on fuel.
Has anyone up...
To me 10 feet isn't far enough away. As a kid i saw a hole in the roof of the local tire shop where the ring went through. I'm still impressed my that hole. I use a 50 foot hose and the valve at the back of the for refilling tires. Most of my flats have been in the woods far from help. You can't...
There is a alumium check valve tucked between the operators station and the boom. It keeps the boom in place while extended. They milled two whench flats to install or remove it. The material is vey thin at those flats and cracks easily. Espacilly when removing it to replace a hyd hose. This...
Yea, down here it never gets cold so i usally keep warm less than 3 min. I was waiting for the air pressure to come up. But i could see someone up north letting the heater warm up the cab before leaving.
Idling before shut down is much more important. It keeps coking in the turbo to a min.
