Clinto, It's hard to say on the milage difference for the filters. Most of my trucks running is off road or stationary, running air powered tools. I can tell you that i used to change the filter about every 6 tanks of diesel. Now it's about every 4. I only pay $9 for the filter so i'm comming...
Adam, Yea the filters start to clog quicker. The truck starts to loose power like it's starving for fuel. I keep 2 extra filters under the seat and just change it out. I haven't had any problems with the other 2 filters though.
As far as the smoke goes, It stinks! and depending on how much oil...
Most recycled motor oil is sold to shipping companies as bunker oil. Witch is burnt in ships as heavy fuel oil. So used oil is going to be burn't in a engine somewhere. It moght aswell be mine saving me money instead. i've used it in my multifuel for a while. The only prob has been having to...
Mine orignally came with the elephant ears. They torched them at the windshield hinges and installed west coasts. I hated them. They vibrated too much to see anything clearly and took a serious beating in the woods. With the elephant ears i can drop the windshield, pop off the mirrors with one...
Lee i've patched a lot of tubes in the woods. Untill i found new tubes for $14. It saves a lot of time. I keep 3 tubes under the seat. I have the exact same tire tools you have. I've had some tires come off with a few wacks. And i've had others that took 2 wekends to get. I have one now that i'm...
I found you a set of elbows and supports. I took the supports off because tree limbs are pretty hard on them. Besides they didn't vibrate with out them any way.
For a truck that was meant to carry #10,000 of bullets across russia it ain't too bad. I've had mine stuck more times than i can count. But there is allways a hole bigger than your truck. Compared to a jeep or a blazer it's not a mud machine. It's like throwing a #13,000 rock into a pond. But it...
Not really. Try looking on the frame rail. It is sometimes stamped and only sometimes stamped on the passenger side frame. Just forward of the front shock mount. About a 1 1/2 inch away. You will probally have to remove a lot of paint and gunk to see it. The letters will be about 3/4 inch tall...
Do you need the little 90deg elbows that go from the mirror head to the windshield hinge?
Or do you need the arm that goes from the windshield hinge to the elbow? I'd take pics but the files always come out too big to post. I might have some extra elbows out in the shed if you need them.
Make sure your FDC is hooked up!. If your worried about it blending take a cup full and stir it into some diesel in a jar. If it settels or floats to the top i wouldn't try it. I doubt it will though. It should mix rather well. I've ran a lot of used oil through mine with out any trouble. Other...
I hope your frend gives it back it's dignity. It probally has to cry it's self to sleep at night. Sorry i had to.
Does it run good? Does everything work?
