Yes your right. The main reason for this adjustment is calibration. Lifting this stop block allows more fuel into the chamber. I learned this adjustment from boyce equipment a few years ago. It works pretty well.

I never use my cover above 60 deg. But most of my trucks running is in the woods or running air tools. So the fan has to keep it cool. The T-stat has always done a pretty good job of keeping the temp at a safe level. But this far south it never gets cold enough to need it anyway.
Do you have a thermostat on the tank heater? Or do you just flip the switch when the fuel is warm enough?
Do you think the SVO works better than the BIO? Do you know if there is more BTU's in SVO? Also Is there a milage difference between SVO and BIO? Thanks
You might check the pinion bearings. Most of the time that i've had them leak is when the pinion bearings go and the flange wallers around. I've had to change 9 sets on the fire trucks so far. Just jack up a tire on the axel your working on to let any binding loose and try to move the flange up...
That's where i put mine. But you will have a better reading just before the turbo. You'll only be reading that cylinder. I've had mine there since 2001 and i've been meaning to relocate it, but there was always more important things to do to the truck.

2d, with regular oil changes and driven sensibly they can easilt make it past 100k. Since they are geared soo low people run them very close to the redline. Any engine ran at it's max rpm or just under won't run forever.
